This is an exchange between my Son-in-Law and I about a film showing what is going on in South Africa. It is repeating closely what happened or is happening in Zimbabwe. The film is pretty long but interesting. It hides or glosses over some important details but the important thing to note is that there is conflict and the whites farmers are being forced from the lands they held for generations.
Gary,
I agree, but don’t think that the video was all that clear about what happened when the early German Lutherans got good title to the land from the indigenous. Also what was not shown was how the land has suddenly become much less productive through neglect.
Dad
I agree, these Lutherans settled here 100 years ago but have legal titles to the land and have been farming for generations and now the new government wants to re-gift Tribal Lands back to "indigenous people"?
The same thing happened to Wally Lindsay in Indututu Umkamaas Natal(40 miles south of Durban just outside of Scottsboro) who had a working sugarcane & cattle farm that provided jobs to several hundred local people. The New government took the farm and gave to Kwazulu "indigenous people" and the farm has not produced any yield crops since?
Sincerely,

This is pretty long but very interesting. It seemed for a while to be
balanced in approach and you can finally start to see that no one has clean
hands. Gary, what is your take?
