Tom has been chosen as the new Riverside City College head football coach. Riverside has not been great recently, as I understand. But back in the late '50s and early '60s, when I was moving from H.S. to J.C., Riverside was really good. Ran the single wing, too, as I recall. (By the way, the Fullerton Hornets usually had several thousand fans attending each game in those days. I remember an article about JC football that ran several years ago. One of the things it said was that JC crowds were small these days, maybe a few hundred fans. Boy, that was not the case years ago!) www.pe.com/sports/breakout/stories/PE_Sports_Local_W_rcc_coach_24.466fa06.htmlAzWm

I have always felt that Tom Craft was an underachiever, never comfortable on the 'big stage'.
He became very successful as the offensive coordinator at SDSU but resigned to go back to coaching at a JC.
He then had to be begged to come back to SDSU as head coach where he was in over his head.
I think he could have been the next Norm Chow if he wanted to. Too bad.
