I don't know if this is the most important year for the program, but we've been ready for that one big breakout season for so long and it hasn't happened. The opinion some hold here that Rocky is only good for 8-4 and a bowl loss have gained some validity, so it will be interesting to see what he can deliver this season. Me, I'm predicting a 3-3 start, but don't panic, six wins to end the regular season and a West Division title.

My prediction...second column is the overall record of the team from last year. TEAM | +/- .500 | PREDICTION | USD | + | Pick 'em | Cal | - | Loss | So Alab | - | Win | Penn St | + | Loss | Fresno St | - | Win | Hawai'i | - | Loss | SJSU | - | Win | Utah St | + | Win | Colo St | + | Loss | Wyoming | - | Win | unlv | - | Win | Nevada | + | Win |
Hawai'i can always be a bust due to the travel out there...there should probably be one more loss in there to +.500 teams... seriously? USD Game as a pick'em? The game will be over by halftime.

I'm thinking 9-3 but I would love to see us get 10 wins plus.

Like it or not the next 3 to 4 years are the most important in SDSU history.
If we go something like 40-8 and get an access bowl invite then we have a chance to move up, if we go more like 32 amd 16 then not so much.
The time is now.

Me, I just plan to relax and enjoy the season. In much the same way that I have enjoyed the last 40 or so seasons. Anyway, who listens to some guys rant on a message board then changes his perspective on the team? Is anyone really that weak-minded? LOL! Have your own views and see how they works out as the season goes on. It's a game; some would say JUST a game. Enjoy - I know I will. I'm glad you're going to have fun. I hope we all will. But this attitude does nothing to help our program. If fans who have suffered for decades can still comfortably lean back in their recliners and demand nothing of this team, then nothing is what we will continue to get. Our fans must not be content with the brand of football that led to the Navy debacle. Such a weak product cannot be sustained here much longer. Angry, impatient customers are the only ones who will make Aztec football survive.

It will be great if the team can get over on one of the P5 teams this year, but it is way tougher than the #nomoreexcuses types make it out to be. Cal and PSU are P5 teams on the rise; the real disappointment was last year, UNC was a wobbly team and they had a great chance to beat them, just a shame that Kaehler was so hobbled.
Looking forward to a fun season this year, and will always hope for the best.

On the other hand, this could be a banner year for the #makemoreexcuses acolytes.

Enjoying the season is EXACTLY what we should be doing, and is exactly the attitude that DOES help our program. Attending games helps the program. Donating to scholarships and capital improvements helps the program. Traveling to road games helps the program. Watching road games on TV helps the program, if you're a Nielsen HH. Beyond that, anything anyone does during the season has zero impact on the program. People who enjoy themselves & not get all worked up about something that will not change between now & December actually is the perfect attitude.
If you have issues take them up directly with those in charge, but if you don't sit back, relax & enjoy the ride. Sports can be a rollercoaster, and there's nothing wrong with that.
As if jumping all over someone who actually wants to enjoy the season can be perceived as beneficial to the program. I'm with Fanatic, I hope I NEVER become "that guy".
BTW, a missed kick led to the Navy "debacle" which was a game expected to be decided by less than a FG.

Let me guess. Your grandmother was saying to all the men there was nothing whatsoever to worry about as she climbed off the Titanic and onto the rowboat.
