So looking forward beyond 2015-16
Leaving the program:
Spencer Shepard Chol Pope?
Remaining:
Allen - G - SR Williams - G - SR Shrigley - G - SR Kell - G - JR Hemsley - G - SO Cheatham - F - SO Hoetzel - F - SO Gill-Caesar - G - SO Narain - F - FR
This gives us 4 Scholarships
Here is a current list of players SDSU is currently recruiting for those 4 scholarships
Justin Moore - G Jarrett Allen - F Brandon Cyrus - G TJ Leaf - F Brendan Bailey - F MJ Cage - F Vance Jackson - F Trevor Stanback - F/C Jonah Mathews - G Jalen McDaniels - F De'Anthony Melton - G Carlos Johnson - F
Any thoughts as to the order of preference...along with probability of actually landing these players on the list. (also...did I miss any 2016 offers?)

I think Jarrett Allen and TJ Leaf are pipe dreams. I don't think Justin Moore or Brandon Cyrus are on the rador anymore.
I think realistic best case is Jonah Mathews SG Jalen Mcdaniels PF MJ Cage C Brendan Bailey SF/PF (2018, he seems dead set on taking a mission)
Mathews is considered a USC lean but seems gettable

I think Allen is a pipe dream, i think Leaf is legitimately considering though. It was mentioned that his parents going to his games is definitely a concern. They could attend at UCLA but it'd be more of a hassle. Now that we have the JAM center, I think we have as good of a shot as anyone else to get him. He's been on campus a number of times

Right, I just think leaf isn't realistic. Doubt they take 3 wings tho (montaque,Mathews, and Melton)

Definite need for additional PF/C . Also would guess the way transfers keep happening and having 13 guys seems too many on scholarship to keep all happy, that the coaches do not go past 12 scholarships or even stay at 11 . Quality over quantity .
As of today we officially have 10 scholarships , counting Pope . Do not know NCAA rules if we can offer one to replace Pope 's scholarship until he makes NBA move official .? So that could mean maybe 2 scholarships , put us at 12 ? Although we know some schools do get creative
So priority is quality PF/C .

PS. I actually think whether we go this route depends on which bigs we sign, but could see us keeping 1 open to seek out a more experienced senior-transfer big (until they change that rule) to bridge the gap to these younger guys for a year. It could just mean signing 3, and using Pope's for transfer if he leaves.

Correct a school gets 13 scholarships but as we have learned , with the amount of transfers that become available , sure seems as though you want to only use 11 or 12 in case you want to add a transfer . Quality over quantity . plus at a position where we need it
As of today we have 10 on scholarship for 2016 . So that means IMO we may have 2 to hand out . ***Priority PF/C or two. If Pope goes NBA that can add another scholarship.
Our guys do play multiple positions but the need sure seems PF/C
2016 Guards: JH, Williams, Kell , Shrigley , MG-C, Allen SF : Pope ( if he stays but doubt) MG-C , Max , Allen possibly Shrigley , Zylan PF/C Narain , Zylan , NEED recruit or two *** if not, may need Max there or transfer

FYI the 6'8 SF Brendan Bailey who committed to Marquette is on his "mission" for the next two years. Nothing more, nothing less.
