Our offense appears to be very predictable. In the past two seasons we have used superior athleticism on the part of some of our stars to win games. Now, even that is not working. We need to bring in a very innovative mind to effectively use our offensive talent.
The most innovative person that I know of is Tom Craft. After him possibly Harbaugh who is using a hell of a lot of Tom Craft's offense last year at Mt SAC. If he can run Tom's offense then bring him on. I'd much sooner have the offensive genius who made up the game plan in the first place.

FYI...going into yesterday, the Chargers offense was ranked #1 in the league.
So was the defense.
Go figure.

Stanford runs the I formation almost exclusively. I don't know what offense Craft uses at the Junior College level, but what Stanford runs is nothing like what Craft ran at SDSU, either as HC or in the 90's as OC. Norv actually does run an offense with some similarities to Craft, since both are running variations of the Coryell offense.
The problem is that all of their talented players (aside from Gates and Rivers) are gone. The O'line has been in decline for years and is now below average. The receiving corp is bad without Jackson, and anytime Hester is getting extended playing time, that is a problem.
