Believe he was born in the Bahamas came to play his HS Basketball here at Balboa Prep . He has probably been to numerous AAU events all over the country ,similar to numerous other guys who attend the various Prep schools .

On the Aztec Recruiting section of this board,there is an interview where he mentions at least 10 schools that are recruiting him . He said he will narrow his choices next summer and then set up visits . He said he has not taken any official or unofficial visits ( I thought he had been over to SDSU for an unofficial ). He does value defense , relationship between players and the coach . Of course it also is important that a coach helps develop his HS players for the NBA . Goal of most guys who attend Prep Schools.

I ran into him once or twice at games over the past two seasons. I believe he was with his dad. Russell had KC Jones, who many would argue was the star of that team and a nba legend. Carmelo carried them but Warrick played in the NBA for years. Magic had Kelser and Vincent, both NBA guys. Don't believe Arenas won a championship but he had a lot of talent around him including Richard Jefferson. Curry didn't make a final 4. One player can turn around a program and carry a team, but 1 guy doesn't win a championship. To the OP, Ayton would lift this program to another level but he'd be surrounded by talent. |

Would guess you need high quality C/PF and PG to get toward the E8 .
Ayton had a good first week of the Evaluation period but T. Maker was even better , when the two played against each other . But would take Ayton in a heart beat .
