I'll agree the LV resort fee hasn't deterred me from visiting LV but when I checked into my hotel room there this last spring, I sure went "Wow" when I heard how much was tacked on. So does that mean it really doesn't matter? Well, my wife and I were paying for just one room for two nights. But what if I'm somebody looking to book 100 rooms for a 5-day convention? THAT'S where too steep a room tax can result in hotels losing bookings to another city. The resort fee in LV has deterred me enough not to spend money staying at a "strip" hotel. I spend about 20 room nights in LV each year...but I'm staying at the Residence Inn or Courtyard on Paradise...not the Flamingo or MGM...even if the same price overall... i realize that im only a VERY VERY small piece of the take in LV...but it's just my way of giving LV strip hotels a single finger salute

I submit the that the Stupidity Tax (gambling)you are paying is at least an order of magnitude more damaging to your fiscal health.

No...I don't gamble (at least in LV)...so finally you and I can agree on something...casino gambling is for suckers... I go to Vegas for 4 trade shows plus the UNLV game plus the MWC tourney...approximately 20 days in total...and I never pay the resort fees...those are for suckers as well... ...and yes I am upset at Nevada charging me for their schools and infrastructure...let Nevadans pay for their schools and infrastructure...I'm already paying a "landing fee" to use their airport and the taxis (the crookedest fleet in the world in my opinion) are paying gas taxes to use their roads (don't even get me started about the State outlawing services like Uber and Lyft)... Again...TOT taxes are designed to tax out-of-town people who can't vote in that jurisdiction...which essentially makes a TOT tax unconstitutional (taxation without representation)...but that doesn't stop virtually every big city in America from the practice...it's a gravy train for the politicians and their subsidized supporters... Just say NO to providing public tax money (whether or not it comes from out-of-towners...or from the home-based citizens) to millionaires and billionaires...

Seems really funny that you get so pissed off about Vegas but you continue to go there and support all those taxes. What about Phoenix and various other cities? Don't go!

"Demolishing the stadium without replacing it means we lose the Holiday and Poinsettia bowls, and our San Diego State Aztecs will have nowhere to play." Such BS. It is irresponsible to say this sort of thing. SDSU will have a place to play when the Chargers leave; the Aztecs have had contingency plans in place for years for the scenario when the Chargers Bolt. When SDSU and or MLS build a new stadium the Poinsettia Bowl and possibly the Holiday bowl will be held at the new stadium (depending on base/expansion stadium capacity).

The Sooper Secret, Keep Your Powder Dry and Strike When The Time Is Right Contingency Plan. Yesterday from Sterk. Got to 22 minute mark where Sterk reveals some of his secrets. You'll probably want to see the financing plan though. www.mighty1090.com/episode/824-darren-smith-show-2pm/

Don't go!h My job requires that I go to Vegas...given a choice I'd prefer to go to any other city in America than Vegas Personally I hope and pray that they move the trade shows / MWC tourney to another city...because Vegas is the very last place I want to go...even worse than going to El Paso in my opinion...

You obviously just have an ax to grind, otherwise since I think you are probably a pretty smart person... you would be able to look at the circumstantial evidence and piece together what the contingency plans look like without this foolish "where is the link" trope you're regurgitating.

Seems like you are probably a pretty smart person, but perhaps we need someone else to provide us the answer to which neither you, nor Sterk can provide substance: Macbeth said, "...it is a tale, Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing."

My thinking is that quote can be applied to several folks... many of which who post here on AM. =)

Reminds me the of the Poodle at "Your" Mother in Laws house that continually humps your leg. You want to kick it off but are too polite and concerned with PC.
Get involved in the program. There is quite a bit to this story which will unfold once the Spanos finally come clean.

Correct, I did not answer your question. Nor will you receive an answer unless you work within a very closed circle of individuals within and around our Athletic Department. Don't like that? Oh well, I can't help you. To the bolded, you are very much incorrect. Sterk very much CAN provide substance (& based on word from appropriately-placed sources, he HAS), he's just not going to do so publicly. Nor should he.

You'll then forgive me, if I don't accept your assertions, as "proof" of our "plan"?

Nothing wrong with that, and I don't fault you in any way for holding that opinion. However, asking the same exact question over and over and over again... when you know what the response is going to be every time... seems silly, no? If you are going to insist in doing so, at the very least just explain why you think Sterk SHOULD publicly document all of the various plans for a new Aztec stadium, both on the current "Mesa" campus and also on a "West" campus if the Chargers vacate.
