Forgot to add that we were the only G5 school to do so. The rest were all P5 schools.

Plus we've done it for 3 straight years. I wonder if that narrows down the list. Plus basketball for 6 straight and football for 5 straight. My guess is there's less than a handful that can say that.

That is excellent company to be in, and that says a lot about our athletic department. We are better, and becoming stronger than many think. Now, our next goal should be to be able to win against better teams, and go farther in post season play in all the sports we compete in on a regular basis. A tough goal indeed, but we just have to keep working on it, and be determined to not give up! We will get there.

To make it to the post season in football, basketball, and baseball. Job well done. With all due respect, this is like being the tallest pygmy in the room. footballscoop.com/news/how-many-division-i-programs-made-the-postseason-in-football-basketball-and-baseball/Personally, I'm not about to buy for one minute that Aztec football has been, nor will be, a qualified success. I'll always have much more respect for back to back 10-1 teams that couldn't buy a bowl game. I'm proud of the accomplishments of the men's basketball program under Coach Fisher's leadership and I'm excited about the potential of the baseball program under Coach Martinez's tutelage. But another single win season followed by another post season to another toilet bowl is not, in any sense of the word, what one could call a success. But sadly, such a season will continue to enable Rocky Long for as long as he wants. Again, those of you that think the Aztecs will become the face of San Diego football, the argument "but we made the post season" is not going to pay the rent. I'm truly sorry, but I'll still refer to Kurt Cobain's "All Apologies". 'I wish I was like you, easily amused".

So you downplay Aztec football, but are excited about having a good weekend to earn a bid to the NCAA's in baseball? I fail to see the difference of the two. They both are comendable accomplishments that should be recognized.

So I'd consider the source.

So I'd consider the source. Perhaps you are right. Just seems like it is a pretty arbitrarily drawn standard to determine success, with a seemingly more gracious skew towards baseball and basketball (although basketball has had the better success, without question).

People say it's easy to go to a bowl 5+ years in a row. If so, why aren't there more teams doing so? Where are most of the teams in our own conference? Heck, with P5's many play down all 4 non-conference games so all they have to do is go 2-6 in conference to make a bowl, yet many haven't. Just the combination of bowls/NCAA tourney's alone is extremely impressive. Add in baseball.....RARE!
What SDSU is accomplishing should not be minimized. It's an incredible feat on all levels, especially when you throw in the 27 conference championships in 3 years!

Aztec baseball is finally improving. Something that just took an actual professional coach. (RIP, Tony, we do all love you.)
Aztec basketball has become one of the top three dozen or so programs in the country.
Both of those programs have positive momentum and this Aztec is proud of both of them. Aztec football, OTOH, is stagnant. We get to bowl games because we're always the third to fifth best team in a terrible conference which has five guaranteed bowl slots. Since the conference will be terrible again in 2015, we're a lock for another bowl game this year. Beat a P5 opponent and win a bowl game against a quality opponent and I'll be happy. Until then, feel free to call me "disgruntled" too.
