Do we know if UCSB is throwing Tate the first game, or save him for 2nd game vs USC? If we do face Tate, it's not a guaranteed win for them. I remembering Strasburg not getting the win in the 1st game a few years back...

I remembering Strasburg not getting the win in the 1st game a few years back... UCSB batting is not the greatest the most home runs is three and 39 rbi. They win based on their pitching and we win because of our batting. My prediction is no matter who they pitch the Aztecs will give them problems.

For good measure, 11th in walks per nine innings and 12th in hits allowed per nine innings. This isn't some fluky NCAA tourney opponent you're facing. We earned our top-15 national ranking.

As far as Dillon Tate goes this is new waters for him. He wasn't a starter his first two years and only pitched a total of 46.1 innings. He's currently at 95.1 for 2015. Fatigue could be setting in, although Tate did sit out the Riverside series.

Anyone know Saturday game times? And I presume if we win Friday we will play in later game on Saturday? The winners play Saturday at 7 pm. The teams who lost, will play at 3 pm.

So I know the reason you guys can't actually host the tournament (lights 'n stuff), but why was the tourney moved so far away? Where the numbers 2 and 4 seeds have the advantage of being much closer to the venue than you, the 1 seed. And is there a clamor on campus to finally bring your field into the 21st century?

Where the numbers 2 and 4 seeds have the advantage of being much closer to the venue than you, the 1 seed. And is there a clamor on campus to finally bring your field into the 21st century? USC finishing fourth in the Pac-12 was what dropped them to a 2 seed and you, well you were outside the RPI top-50. I guess Coach Checketts didn't want to use Cal Poly or USC's field, and Fullerton is already hosting at home. He must have thought Lake Elsinore would be more friendly towards pitchers. Yes, I'm hoping this episode will encourage donors to pony up some cash and bring in lights, expanded seating capacity and improved media accomodations and food concessions. If we make progress there I think he'll stay. There are plenty of worse locations to coach than sunny Santa Barbara. For the record, I was hoping we would place a bid to host here in San Diego. No better place than Tony Gwynn Stadium for UC Santa Barbara to start their march to Omaha. Not like you folks won much at home this year or anything

I see we have quite a few mutual opponents. SDSU split with CSUN and Long Beach, swept Loyola Marymount, won 2 of 3 vs UC Irvine and 3 of 4 vs UC Riverside. Won three of five vs Fresno and lost their only game with BYU.
We won both series over CSUN and Long Beach, swept UCI, beat and tied LMU, and lost the series to UCR. We swept Fresno 4-0 and BYU 4-0.

4 seed vs UCSB in Lake Elsinore Great stadium, will be catching some Storm games this summer. If I didn't have a previous commitment I would definitely road trip down the 15 for this series. I trust there will be supporters trucking up the 15. This team deserves it. You got that right! This team is the first baseball team to go into competition without Tony, and nothing would honor his memory more than to win for him!!!!!!! GO AZTECS!!!

Boy, Virginia really got screwed with their seeding being sent all the way across the nation to face 3 other teams that are only an hour bus ride from the stadium. Let's go Aztecs!
