Saw UB40, Tom Petty, PIL, the Ventures, and the Ramones at SDSU Ramones at SDSU nice! I know this is probably stretching it, but I remember a guest that filled not only the auditorium at the old Aztec Center but speakers were provided in other rooms that filled with students wanting to hear this speaker, Rod Serling, (I know, who?). But for my generation this was the man in a time of cold war, airline crashes, and space travel who continually gave us food for thought. And yes, to keep it on topic, Tracey Nelson at The Back Door, (she wrote the classic "Down So Low").

www.kpbs.org/news/2015/apr/22/professor-digs-history-live-music-sdsu/Some good stuff! My on-campus experience has been pretty limited. Sat on the lawn outside the OAT for Oingo Boingo in 1990. Saw an awesome Bonnie Raitt concert in '98, and Jewel in '02 -- again both at OAT. Walked past The Backdoor several times but was dumb never to go in. Rumor has it U2 played there at some point in the early or mid-80s. My presence at plenty of random acts on the Monty's patio should count for something. Always wanted to go to X-Fest inside Aztec Bowl, but was always out of town. We at that Oingo concert, in fact we had comp tickets and backstage passes. My wife went to school with the lead guitar and orchestrator of all the Elfman film music. He was best bids with my sister in law's 1st hubby. He a quiet and drug free family man. We also Saw Bonnie R with Lyle Lovett there, and Clapton in what was then Cox arena. Back in the late 70's we sat on the grass for what seemed like a bazillion concerts.

My 1st B-I-L who plays bass, used to go with them to LAX dressed in gorilla costumes and play their stuff acoustically. This was around 1974. They made a two part video that has all their stuff. They discovered that they played much better in front of crowds, but Elfman's voice couldn't hold up for as long as they needed to. So they rented a theater in LA for a week. Each night they would play different songs and and that's what in on the video. It is great.

That Clapton show at COX, May 26, 1998, is the best show I have ever seen. Of course 2nd row, front and center, might have had something to do with it!

The Breeders were also there, but some ahole hit one of the Deal sisters in the face with a bottle of water and they walked off stage. Was an epic fail IMO.

We bought the tickets, and for us they were expensive. The following week we received a notice from the IRS that we owed more than we could afford. We thought about selling the tix, but my late mom said she would pay for 1/2 of the,as a preset. I paid her back when she got to see me graduate. Hope all is good.

Pat Benatar at Montezuma Hall in 1980. I stood right in front of the stage. Good times. My friends saw Blondie at OAT in '79 right before I moved to SD. Wish I was here for that.

1963-1967 era. All in Peterson Gym. No Aztec Center, Back Door or Student Union in those days. I'd get there about 4:00 p.m. and get to sit on the floor in the front row.
Off the top of my head I saw Peter, Paul and Mary, Chad Mitchel Trio, Harry Belafonte, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Modern Jazz Quartet, Dave Brubeck Quartet.

Good times at the OAT in the early 90s... remember seeing Lenny Kravitz and the Black Crowes (not together). Edit: Still disappointed that I never got a chance to see Lucy's Fur Coat live. I was at that Black Crowes concert, very "laid back" crowd, if you know what I mean.
