Watching that, I immediately went in search of a bottle of spirits!

Watching that, I immediately went in search of a bottle of spirits! Yep, Dave has invested heavily in rehab centers.

No, no. I still have nervous flashbacks during some of our closer games even today after all of our success. That UNLV game blew my mind.

This thread should be combined with a thread of the USC tie, the BYU tie, the loss to an 0-10 (or whatever they were) UNLV. And then deleted. And then shot into deep space.

I was sitting in the first row with the show that game. I can still see the loss unfolding. Unable to get the ball in play or across center court. Even today, with today's teams, I get cold sweats when the Aztecs are ahead by a few points with 30 seconds or less on the clock. I say to myself, "come on shot clock operator, be slow stopping the time." Let's hope that will never happen again.

That's the night the lights went out in Viejas (er, the night the Cox went limp…)
The final FTs by Walton still hurts to watch.

I was at that game. Things sure have changed...in those days you almost expected something bad to happen now just the opposite.

Look at all those empty seats. Easy to forget how our games used to be. I can't recall exactly but I seem to remember hearing a story about Fish walking around campus, introducing himself to students and literally giving away free tickets to our games because they were so poorly attended. That was during his first year in 99-2000. Attendance then was way worse than in this video. Went from being maybe 1/8 full to 1/2 full

I saw him personally get turned down. Luckily some of my buddies accepted. Fisher actually came up to us and greeted me by name. I was just a student SID who met him only a handful of times at the moment. It was a big deal to me and still means a lot. It shows what kind of guy he is.
