Overbhis last 5, 6 or 7 games he is averaging morw than 14/5/2 with steals and great defense.
What do you want him to do.

Geezus, I thought the title of this thread meant he's going to be passing gas of Olympian proportion. LOL

It was a pleasure to watch the two quick transiton baskets by Shrigley and Kell. The team IS QUICK/FAST, can play WITH and beat anyone, if they would only, unleash this offensive weapon..The pass from Shepherd to Kell was classic......Polee was ahead of his man and the rest of the defenders a number of times.....All the person who had the ball in the backcourt had to do, was look and fire a pass..Shepherd missed him twice, becaUSE he has THE TENDENCY TO look at the ball before he makes THE first bounce. A GOOD BALL HANDLER/PASSER LOOKS UP COURT first, AND HAS VISION OF THE ENTIRE SETTING.

And yet, he's the top scorer for the team this season. True, but he is also doing that on only 41% shooting. He also has more turnovers than assists which is frankly....brutal. Shep is what he is. A guy who plays hard, sets the tone for the team defensively and has carried over the culture (along with JJO) from the Thames/Franklin/Tapley teams. What he isn't is a good offensive player.

Thanks, coach. I love this board. So you think shooting 68% for the season from the FT Line is so strong that his FT routine cannot be questioned? Sleepy is right, very rarely do high percentage FT shooters take anywhere near that much time at the line before they shoot. You can argue this point if you want, but you would be wrong.

Leads the team AGAIN in Turnovers by a country mile. Real frustrating to watch from a Junior. While the often smacked around JJ has half as many TOs and twice as many steals. Nuff said. CLEAN IT UP!!!

Feel free to agree with sleepy that he, who sits on a couch and watches the game on TV, can determine if Shep is overthinking his free throws if you want, but you would be wrong. (Of course, you did add the 68% at the line stat... btw, what percentage would Shep have to hit before he wasn't 'overthinking it'?) I truly love this board.

His percentage would increase by 3.2% for every second he takes off his routine. This is proven by looking at how players around the country shoot during practice. Yes, this is research that I have done. You can disagree if you want but you'd be wrong.

Azteca...JJ is a 5th year senior.does well against younger defenders. Knows his role. Hope he can continue playing well against tougher opponents in the BIG DANCE. ( = ;

CLEAN IT UP!!! Let's not lose all perspective here. Shep averages 2.5 TOs per game and JJO averages 1.5. We are talking about 1 possession per game. Which equates to roughly 1 point per game. And I can't tell you how many times Shep has been credited with a TO this year when a perfect pass goes right through the hands of Sky or Chol. This team wins with defense... and Shep is hands down a better defender. I'd venture a guess that Shep's defense more than makes up for that lost point on turnovers. Shep and JJO both get smacked around on this board. We'd be in deep trouble without either one of them.

Shep had a turnover against UNLV when he saw Shrigs streaking down the sideline with a defender back pedaling and trying to keep up. Shep saw that if Shrigs just accelerated and turned the corner, he'd have an uncontested layup. Shep fired a perfect pass, but Shrigs gave up on the play (or maybe didn't see it). The pass sailed into the second row. Looked really bad. But it was Shrigs fault, not Shep's.
