And the Kevin Durrant comparison is legit except Kevin Durant is the star focal center of the team where pope Hardly ever plays big difference! Trust me, if hope was the focus of this offense our offense would be so much better. I would be pissed if I was him choosing San Diego State. I have a feeling coach Fisher has a better handle on how to manage his team than you my friend. I love Pope but 3 good collegiate games doesn't make him comparable to the NBA MVP. You don't make a freshman with 12 games played in the past 3 years, the focus of the offense. Don't break is stride bro, he's on a roll. "Was it over when the German bombed Pearl Harbor......."

Our offense typically consists of holding the ball for 20-25 seconds and then one individual going against four to put up a tough shot...it often times doesn't work. Holding the ball so long maybe a way of conserving energy for the tenacious defense we play ( The D was excellent last night). When we are really rolling on offense there is a lot of ball movement and assists. One statistic that is very telling with this team is there are very, very few team assists.

What's surprising to me is that this team doesn't run. A few weeks ago, it seems like they "tried" it and it worked well (I think it was vs. CSU?). The "running-the-shot-clock-down-and-jacking-up-a-shot" thing hasn't really worked all year, especially when we don't have a legit scoring threat (if only Fish would let Pope loose...). Exactly! What is the point of Coach Fisher getting all this talent when he does not let them play to their level? He constantly micromanage is the offense and it makes is way worse because of that. We should be running the court all game against these guys as we have the best athletic talent in the conference by far! Not only that, he does not run any plays for anybody. Pope is such a stud and we need his offense so bad and Coach Fisher refuses to play him! The guy will probably go to the NBA next year as a top 15 pick and he got what nine minutes last night? If I was him I'd be so mad. I would consider transferring or going to the NBA. RT will never take that next step until Fisher learns how to run an offense better than a high school offense. You're a tool.

if you watch a top 10-12-14-etc team play, you can see how big the gap is between the elite and our underperforming team. Back in Dec, I said NIT and was berated by everyone. looking more and more that I was right. BUT, come on team prove me wrong.

Jeremy Hemsley Video | Scouts Report ESPN 100 #20 SG La Verne, CA Damien High School 6'4'' 190 85 SAN DIEGO ST To be fair, DJ Gay & Xavier Thames were not point guards coming out of high school either. I remember both were more the "combo guard", steady type that Fisher seems to like, but with the athletes that we have at the wing we could really use a guard that can play faster and push the tempo and give us some transition baskets. Hope Hemsley eventually develops into that type of player.

you score 7 points and BSU scores 24. I caught part of the VCU earlier and their offense is just like ours, run down the court and jack a shot. Suggest that the coaches and players lock themselves in the film room and replay the end of the game until their eyes bleed. Think you might want to get a JUCO PG. No one now or coming in is a PG. Next year will be worst. What's surprising to me is that this team doesn't run. A few weeks ago, it seems like they "tried" it and it worked well (I think it was vs. CSU?). The "running-the-shot-clock-down-and-jacking-up-a-shot" thing hasn't really worked all year, especially when we don't have a legit scoring threat (if only Fish would let Pope loose...). i was thinking this the next day after the game. maybe its time to push the action up the court and run a little bit more as opposed to slowing things down ALL the time and grinding out half court sets. this might change a bit of the mindset and lead to more free throw opportunities. of course we would have to make those.

And Durrant makes significantly better decisions with the ball & is much more experienced.
We know you're Pope's agent, but seriously. The love affair is embarrassing. Pope is a focal point of the offense in practice & they've actually designed several plays for him as well. Unfortunately when he gets into a game they don't play out, and that's as much on him as on his teammates.
