I think Angew is the real deal simply based on pedigree. When the last six QBs from your HS start at the college level and all of them FBS, going 5-1 in their debuts, you have a QB factory. That and he is the exact type of QB recruited for the offense Horton is looking to run. That being said he'll RS this season. I have to laugh at all you guys and your QB predictions. I remember everyone thought Bawden was going to be the $hit and he tanked vs. Fresno, not what everyone expected. Along comes JR and everyone's posting he's the man for the next 2 yrs. Now we get this ringer from Kentucky and he's suddenly the man. I read this incoming freshman Agnew is going to be the bomb just because of the previous 6 QB's out of his high school go D-1? Really? Let it play out people. Bawdin was a true FR; I don't think anyone expected anyone as a true FR to come in and be "the $hit", nor do I think anyone thinks Agnew will be "the bomb" as a FR.
Neither has proven they can't be "the $hit" or "the bomb" in 2-3 years though.
But yes, QB's who have yet to make a mark tend more praise than they should, just as QB's who actually play & don't star get ripped apart more than they should. Welcome to the world of social media and welcome to the 21st century.

Expecting him to be a "serviceable back-up" last year is NOT the same as expecting him to be "the $$#!+". He was the best of the available options, even while extremely raw & young, which actually says something good about him & his potential. Chapman & the JC transfer weren't going to be "the $hit" either.
BTW, are you sure Toledo "sent the JC transfer" packing, or could it be that the JC transfer saw the talent in Bawdin & Chapman & thought it better to transfer or he'd never get to play?

any chance we can wait until the end of next week and they choose the top 3 QB;s then go into crazed out mode debating the top 3 before they actually play the Spring game end of March . Important to have at least 2 guys if not 3 that can lead the 2015 team . As of now reports are there has been a lot of energy from the offense , led by a very vocal new young enthusiastic offensive staff . Do remember Rocky saying the QB is the key for the Aztecs to be a high quality team and any chance of getting to the MW championship .

2014 = 10-2 2015 = 13-0
So we should wait until the top three are chosen before we debate who the top three might be?

Yes it is Drew Anderson who is a walk on red shirt freshman(pocket passer) . Yes why not wait until it is down to 3 and they start getting some decent reps ,rather then 1 out of 6 . Chapman and Anderson can not red shirt again.. Bawden &, Wood can, plus Agnew when he arrives in the summer .

But don't check up on us or we'll think you don't trust us.

Last time I used $#!+ and bomb in the same paragraph I think I was describing a stomach virus.

It's pretty apparent Sipe liked Odeman: www.utsandiego.com/news/2014/mar/03/aztecs-brad-odeman-jr-quarterback-battle-ventura/And do you actually think Odeman would have left SDSU if he had been given any encouragement by Toledo? Toledo was really bad. Not Chuck Long TERRIBLE, that's true, but bad nonetheless and making an obviously not ready for primetime Bawden the backup was an example.

Sure hope the Aztec coaches have got their act together in being able to Recruit then Develop QB's .Aztecs have gone through is it 5 OC's in the last 7 years , but had Sipe as the QB coach for the last 5 years . Learn from the mistakes of the past and move forward . Seems that if Rocky trusts the OC ,he lets him run the OC and QB's . Do not know if the OC or QBC was the one doing the recruiting of the QB , but it has been screwed up . this year there is a "new " OC and QBC . Hope they are on the same page and have at least two guys ready to lead the offense . As we all know without a high quality QB , we are going to have a hard time winning the MW championship the goal for this season . Does help if the OC has the style of QB that fits his scheme or can teach them. No Excuses , Just results and Wins that lead to the Championship .

JRod will bring excitement back to the Mesa. Guaranteed. Sounds good in theory, but it's not even a guarantee that he starts this season.... Tough to bring excitement if you have a clipboard in your hand.

I honestly don't care who steps up. I just want one of them to take the lead and separate themselves.
