And the list of transfers begins ........ and will continue to grow until MM is done . First and for most Aztec coaches need to get a real read on their own players for 2015 , who is leaving and who is staying then decide if they need players at what position .
As noted Maker can play another year of Prep Basketball , play Pro in another country as some are doing ,or pick any college he wants to play for as a 7 ft center . Believe Duke and Kentucky have a 2015 Center recruit , but have a history of getting guys to the NBA . Numerous options

There are going to be quite a few programs holding an extra scholarship open until June rather than handing them all out in April. I know Fish said he's no longer looking at HS recruits for '15 but every coach in America would make an exception for this kid, even if it means giving someone a push out the door.
My guess is Duke or Kentucky, but wouldn't it be something to sneak in & potentially have 2 lottery players on next year's team???!!
This kid is going to be very special - top 5 in 2016 draft.
I agree. If you watch the highlights of Thon Maker, it is apparent that he could be a freakish combination of size and skill that is very rare.

5th year graduate transfer point guard please This. A battle tested, physical point guard who can show the younger guards how to run an offense. The reason this year's team has trouble with shooting is there is no experienced point guard to set up the scorers with open shots.

My guess is that he goes overseas...gets paid...and enters the NBA draft in 2016...

Thon Maker is going to disappoint a lot of people... The guys that evaluate talent for a living are nowhere near as high on this kid as the general public. Could and should still be a lotto pick, but he isn't the next Shaq/Lebron/Davis/etc.

Has Anyone heard anything about who we are even looking at.... Only Marcus Lovett Jr. still has an offer from us I believe but he has like 10 offers or something like that. He would bring another dimesion. I guess Fish might be holding out for a transfer or something but has anyone heard anything( any mid season transfers). There's no guarantee that someone on the roster won't move on and give Fish another schollie. Never assume we know how many schollies are available.

The transfer list is going to really increase after MM . Not sure we want guys that are leaving now as problems . on our team we do not know who is leaving for sure , so no need to panic about 2015 . finish the current season then evaluate our needs and scholarships , also chances of signing quality guys for 2016 .

No it's the offense we run - either post to JJO or high screen-and-roll. We have an above average PG in Quinn and D'Eryl is a pure PG but the offense is not designed for them. We have solid spot up 3PT shooters in Shrigley & Pope but zero plays designed for them. Shrigley isn't quite Reggie Miller but he has a nice touch and very quick release...plus his confidence can run high if fed...problem is we starve that aspect of his game.

A career 37% and 29% shooter this season. Not sure that's what we need?
