Sky has been a bit of an enigma this year, however, in today's game he was a monster. 8 pts, 7 boards and 3 blocks in 17 minutes. Wow, if he can keep rolling we will be very tough to beat. Love the momentum we are on now.

Couldn't watch the game. Were the points on good post moves or put backs? If chol teaches him a post move we're gonna be legit

It'd be nice if he could do this once every few games, instead of once every 9 or 10 games.
Actually, the last time I saw him look this good was the Kansas game last year.

He Played a very good game last night. He was his usual tough presence under the basket but also had a very good offensive night. If he can continue to do this it makes us much better. If Winston had the same tough mentality when driving to the hoop, finishing with authority ! his game would elevate as well.

He had a stellar game and Could be the difference going forward for the team . Coaches need to try to set up plays to keep him involved in the offense . He would have had 10 points but they took away 2 points on offensive goal tending . Stop using him as the ball screener and let him hang down low on offense . He would also be very effective if we played more zone D . We would not give up as many easy lay up points .

The next thing you know he will be making free throws regularly.

Do believe that it would be a major boost for the team if we could get 15 points a game from the Spencer / Chol combination . stop having them go outside for the ball screen , let them hang near the lane for shots , put backs and rebounds , to me a lot more important then the ball screen .

That's true, I think Spencer has the better hands. I've been noticing that when Pope and/or Kell comes in, Chol does too. Both Kell and Pope are good inside passers, but Chol just cannot catch their bullet passes. That's why I'd rather see Spencer paired up with them.

Chol struggled last night, but he wasn't the only one. Spencer had a good night, and it was wonderful to see, but he's not known for catching passes. He bobbles a lot. Can't wait to see them both get over respective issues.

We have two big games coming up against Slow Pokes and CSU . We are going to need the S/C combo at C/5 to really come through in those games . They are very important to making us a very good team . They need to be involved and ready to catch passes plus score for us to make a run .

Spencer's undervalued by this forum, yes he isn't a good offensive player, and is just an ok rebounder, but his defense is so important to what this team does. He doesn't just block shots, he unlike chol is often in great defensive position and changes shots, on top of that he is one of the rare shot blocker who also doesn't foul much. He's very good, even when he doesn't score.

Need strong play and offensive production from our guys(SS/AC) in the middle down low on both ends of the court . they both could be very important for us to win the MW and make a run . We get points from a variety of the guards and wings but really need SS/AC to be completely involved and a part of the offense . Get them as many touches as possible in practice so they are ready for the passes when they come . Would be helpful if the ball went inside to at least one of the guys down low on every possession. AQ has been a good spark scoring , would be even better if he worked on getting the ball quickly to various players including SS/AC . Seems that role has gone to JJ , but that eliminates some options .

They play a 6'7 inside/out guy at the post in Avila, so I wouldn't be surprised to see SS/AC play less than 25-30 minutes combined in that game. I think having WS/JJ/MP man the 4/5 in that game frequently will be effective.

This year is truly showing how athletic and the high motor Josh Davis truly had last year. He was a rebounding machine! If Skylar can focus his energy and athleticism on defense and rebounding solely, his offensive production i'm sure will take off like how it did vs USU. Skylar is still a Beast!

I think it was Boise State's Nick Duncan who guarded him effectively and he's only 6'8". When we played them Avila stayed outside and made a lot of 3s so he'll probably try to do the same when they come to Viejas. No matter what they do, Hutson will be ready for them this time.

In addition to Avila 6'8" , CSU also has Kidd 6'8" - 13 points and 6 boards in their last game , and Daniels 10 rebounds and 9 points also in 20 minutes . So we may very well need the SS/ AC combo down low on both ends , some points, boards ,draw fouls .D, Blocks. Could see less of SS/AC if we get into a tight game and we are in the bonus FT . Personally would not mind seeing some of the FHD " Play that Funky Hutson Defense "

He torched us from 3 (2-2) but did nothing inside. Daniels could be a decent match-up but as you said he's a limited minutes type of player. CSU is just not a good match-up for either AC or SS defensively so unless we really establish them early inside I just don't see it. Plus, Avila can guard either player, so it's not like we gain an advantage offensively.
