Kyahva Tezino is a 6'0.5" 4* OLB (#20) who committed to Washington State but will take an official visit to SDSU. recruiting.scout.com/story/1504848-west-five-on-flip-watchCommitted to: Washington State School to Watch: San Diego State The Buzz: Tezino picked the Cougars last month, just a couple weeks after his official visit. But he maintained he was likely to take official visits and this week, he'll visit San Diego State. While its unlikely he will decommit from a Pac-12 school for a Mountain West school, the proximity to home gives the Aztecs a little bit of hope.

Supposedly had an offer from UCLA so if he simply wants to be closer to home, you would think he would decommit to the Bruins.

Nope he will sign with WSU per an update today. WSU's new 180 million dollar facilities had a major impact.

He still has to live in Pullman. You can put lipstick on a frog... That may be true but that frog still has way more money than we do due to being in the Pac. Can you imagine what we would look like making Pac12 type money every year? I'm starting to think that is why USC and UCLA never wanted us in the Pac back in the 70's as others have mentioned. That and the fact that we are a "state" school.

Yes the biggest reason the PAC schools do not want SDSU or others to be elevated to P5 status is it would elevate the Aztecs on the same level as they are for recruiting . Right now they (WSU , OSU , Colorado ... ) can use the same money that USC ...gets and prestige to get hire better coaches , facilities , 4 year scholarships , food , stipends,... all the benefits of P5 and most importantly say to a recruit look at the advantages a P5 school can give you even WSU over SDSU . It has nothing to do with State school , academics it is P5 status/ benefits. That is why they get 5 , 4 or even 3 * star recruits . Show them the MONEY . Unfortunately it will only get worse , as they even more money and benefits , better bowl games .......... The better teams in the PAC get the 5 and 4 star recruits . the lower level may get a 4 mostly 3 star or even 2 . but the lower PAC schools still have the advantage over the majority of G5 schools . So that is why we will never get invite to the PAC

The MOTO aspect is if all things being equal (playing time, talent level vs others at the same position, etc) P5 schools have the edge. That is self-evident. What you regularly ignore is that each kid has his unique set of circumstances. Position coach, home, opportunity to start sooner, NFL exposure, bowls, etc are many of the reasons considered. It isn't simple at all.

IMO most 5 and 4 star recruits are going to at least start out at a P5 school . Are you saying they aren't ? Also with the advantages that the P5 schools have for 2015 recruits , hard too see them turning down a P5 offer . Yes maybe if there are particular situations for a family or if they are a 2 or 3 star and afraid of the competition or see a void at a position at 1 school. But the Bowls are better for P5 and if the NFL is considering two players they also look at the competition they played against . If they are rated the same they are going to take the P5 player .

The NFL will take the player the lke best based upon their needs. The school is irrelevant. The only plus is that P5 schools have generally NFL caliber players. At the individual level, it is much more personal and is unique to the kid. As for 5 star players, read my comments about playing time and their talent level vs others at their position. A solid player isn't necessarily going to a program just to be 3 deep behind 5 star players. Every recruiter will tell you that they have to understand what individually motivates the kids and looks for ways to meet that need. if it were as cut and dried as as you suggest, why even try?

He probably realized he will have it easy at The Palouse, since Leach coached teams don't play D. Nothing like a 4 year scholarship vacation, add that to the probability his defensive coordinator will have about a 2 year shelf life with Leach. He can practice his people skills too!
