Polee is shooting around 30% from the field, he hasn't earned a starting spot.

But, why not let Shriley start and see if can help jump-start the offense. Uh, because Shrigs is 3-16 from behind the arc to start the season. He's been shooting HORRIBLY. Some guys just have slumps; Shrigs falls into a mine shaft. Last year, he went through an 0-16 streak. So, no, let's not switch out JJ with Shrigs. Miners, I'm curious to hear what you think is up with Shrigs? I remember you telling us early last season that he.was the real-deal and to expect great things, but he's been inconsistent at best.

If I remember correctly prior to the first game there was some question as to whether Polee should start or not. Most on this board were for Polee to start. Some argued that maybe DP would be better coming off the bench.DP is a stand still or one dribble shooter. He is very effective in the 1-3-1 zone and also a good one on one defensive player. Coming off the bench he could bring lots of energy both on offense and defense.I see this as a positive move. I also see AQ as team leader, especially to the young back court players who can learn how to get shots and set up other players for good looks.
I see DP, Allen and Chol coming into a game and changing the whole rhythm of the game. This brings in a 3 point shooter, a defensive stopper and a slasher on offense in Allen, and a low block threat in Chol. A whole different look from the line up that started and a headache for the opposing coach trying to match up.
Lastly, stop turning the ball over. Every turn over is a potential 4 point switch. the 2 points you don't get and the 2 the other team could get. For an offensively challenged team this a death knell. TAKE CARE OF THE GD BALL.

IMO Polee could benefit if he used his athleticism near the basket to his advantage . Need his ability to slam home baskets and need him to help on the boards , rather then moving way outside and shooting threes . I would also add that Zabo could also help at PG , plus he is currently shooting 40% on threes . Would also like to see Pope get involved in the offense , he can create shots better then any one on the team . The reserves Polee , Chol. Allen , Zabo , Pope could all add a boost to the team if they got the opportunity to add a little up tempo style to the Aztecs offense . May not be the best thing to bring all 5 in at a time , unless they are working together as a unit but feel all those guys can contribute and really attack the basket with athleticism and authority .

Fisher on his radio show Thursday night said the PG position is still a position by committee , as predicted last spring by the UT , may take a few guys . The key thing in moving Polee back to sixth man is if the coach explained to Polee First before it hit the press why he was making the move . When you have 13 players ,you better be communicating with all of them on a personal level,or you could lose them. If it was to try to get DP back on his game and they needed another true guard in the line up . DP's stats were not where they need to be , he needs to be playing closer to the basket to use his athleticism to the max . Fisher also said on radio show the team took way too many threes , 5 for 25 and not enough went in . Coach also said he wants the ball to go inside more often and as Zeigler reported to use the "new box set " offense. Worked early in the CINCY game before , we started launching threes. MS is not the answer either . IMO the next three games is time to see what contribution the team may get from Zabo - a true PG and Pope a true scorer . I think Fisher is a player's coach so it's all good. In some respect Polee might see it as a relief, less pressure. He'll still get his minutes, as well he should.

I haven't been overly impressed with Zabo. He seems way too small and he has gotten several shots blocked in ridiculous fashion, looked the defender blocked the shot with his elbow. Maybe he just needs more time to adjust....I guess we will find out during the stretch of games coming up, he may have a lot of PT to work things out.

Zabo is used to playing with a fast paced offense CIA BOUNCE - AAU Team and Brewster Academy , he is very quick looking for guys cutting . way to often our guys stand around instead of moving without the ball . Sometimes he does try to do too much . watch when he does not have the ball , he is constantly in motion trying to get open . He is shooting 40% from 3 point land . Do not think he is any smaller then DJ Gay or Ritchie Williams or B. Heath .

Polee made two bad decisions after high school.
1.Lavin 2.Fisher
Neither knew/know what to do with athletic ability. have you ever seen a set run for him ...over a Lob over the top...He spearheaded the UNM win last year, by being at the poiint on the press..This year..he is not being utilized there...have slow feet Obrien and Shrigley, being exploited ...GRRRR
Last year's success was by his own doing. Not coaching.
Think about it. Every year since he has been at SDSU he has been kept in a box and short leash. He gets in games, causes turn overs and score quick.....Then before he runs back down the court he is jerked out of the game...just when he gets his engine warmed up and in rhythm. Everything fumbling he has done this year hs been because he is out of rhythm......He has revrted back to the box and short leash.
There has to be more then basketball, to his problems, then meets the eye.

I like Polee coming off the bench, he adds a spark when he hits the floor.
Shrigley is an enigma. He has a great looking shot but has yet to be a consistent shooter. I would really like him to be successful but he sure gets a lot of hype for being a marksman when he rarely delivers.
I would like to see Kell at the 2 guard. i don't think would be long before his shooting % and numbers would go up.
