For everyone here interested in recruiting projections I think you'd enjoy this: kenpom.com/blog/index.php/weblog/entry/introduction_to_the_pasr_recruiting_modelAfter looking it over I noticed that he had Cage favoring UCLA slightly, I emailed Fambrough and he got back to me very promptly explaining how he is updating the model and that will be changing. In any case thought some of you would find thing interesting.

So for 2014 it actually had #73 Cheatham as 32% for NM, 27% SDSU, 25% Washington. #17 Pope was 45% SDSU, 43% Kansas. #118 Kell 27% SDSU, 22% Oregon.
2015 #73 Hemsley was 77% SDSU, #100 Jones was 43% SDSU, 19% Arizona St.
For now it shows Cage at 53% UCLA, 35% Kentucky and only 6% SDSU. That doesn't bode well.
Others for 2016 #30 Vance Jackson (SDSU 36%, Cal 26%, Arizona 18%) #103 Brandon Cyrus (SDSU 87%, USD 11%) #125 Justin Moore (SDSU 51%, USC 39%, Arizona 10%)

If we get him I'll be the most excited I've ever been for an incoming player. That guy is seriously good. I like Cyrus a lot too

Pretty rough about Cage, but that Vance Jackson percentage is really surprising. Our lack of offense has to have recruits considering other schools, unfortunately. Can't put up 50 a game and them expect them to grow their offensive skillsets at SDSU. We need to find that O that we brought with us to Maui....or play in some smaller gyms cuz we can't shoot for s!&%

Interesting that ESPN doesn't even list SDSU on their recruiting page for Jackson.

Nice to hear, since I would really think SDSU has a much better shot than the model was suggesting.

things change for recruits . what schools add what players at what positions for 2015 , then 2016 . There are at least 5 PF's rated ahead of Cage for 2016 , so you know Kentucky pulls at least one . UCLA ,who knows as they also recruit across the country . Arizona added Leaf .

Yes it is true some recruits do not want play D first or get pulled if you do not . Some also want a fast paced offense , Aztec coaches know this and that is why they say not every recruit wants to come to SDSU .

Luckily you aren't a recruit we're after. You're right, but I was about 12 years ago. Nobody can deny that our offense is tough to watch this season. We've shown glimpses in Maui, but it needs an overhaul, and you're pretty naive if you think kids don't notice.

It does get mentioned when players transfer (i.e. change in coaching what affect the style of play) and if you look the players SDSU recruits, most of them are kids who like to get after it on defense. That being said, I think SDSU is at a point where most of the kids they are going after have a chance to play professionally (NBA or overseas) and the coaches can sell them on the fact that being know as a player who is above average on defense will help them get to the pros.

Yes K. Leonard and other have done well in the NBA or Europe . But , Fisher and the staff stress D , if you do not play D you sit . Some recruits know that playing D is not as much of a priority so they look at other schools , say no thank you and move on to other top 25 schools that see offense as most important .
