He had a bad night last night, at least offensively. Just remember YBU plays a very uptempo game which tends to get guys playing outside of their comfort zone, especially for a team like us which emphasizes defense. If I had to point at one part in his game last night where I would say I was very disappointed was with him at the FT line. He makes his FTs and there is no OT. He is too good of a shooter to be 33% from the line.
YBU hung 121 against the hosts today. They are a pretty good team. I hope they kick the Zags ass this year. It will really help our RPI.

YBU ought to beat teams like that, half of them are already exhibiting male pattern baldness because of their age. It does not seem right that they can go away for two years on a mission, lift weights, eat right and work on their games and then come back and pick up where they left off. They should be docked a red shirt year and one other year of eligibility. There is a huge difference between an 18-20 year old man and one that is 22 plus.

All this anti-mission talk is all just a wee bit hypocritical don't you think? We've got three 5th year seniors on our team who play major roles for us: AQ will be 23 in a couple of weeks and DPII and JJO are both 22. Transfers get to practice all year with their new teammates while they sit out a year... those on a Mormon mission aren't exactly working on their games while in 3rd world countries for 2 years.

I have posted previously about this but I'll say it again. My best friend in high schools older brother went to BYU and eventually played in the NFL. He redshirted his freshman year and then went on a "mission" overseas. My buddy told me that he had a personal trainer and a nutritionist counseling him while he was on his "mission". My buddy laughed if off as yet another reason why his religion was bogus. That always stuck with me and now that I see the balding dudes on their bball team it makes me sick.

You may very well have a valid argument in football... but I'm not buying it for basketball. Like I said, AQ will be 23 in just a couple of weeks.

My point is that they get the mission years as well as the red-shirt year. Once they burn their red shirt year, they should lose eligibility while on their missions, it is not fair one bit. As for AQ and the other 5th year seniors, they are well within the spirit of the NCAA procedure on transfers. Guys going away for two years and not having it affect their eligibility is bogus.

I agree, a late birthday a 2 year mission and and redshirt puts some of these guys at 23-24+ years old. There's a huge difference in strength, stamina and maturity between 17-18 and 22-24. Plus they are working on their legs with all that bike riding.(haha.)

He's scoring 35 points a night on 35 shots? I'll take it He had 9 points on 9 shots? Right on track. Now all that's needed is for Polee to be such a horrible teammate that no other talented players want to play with him. Whelp there's no sense in arguing with someone who has the Kobe hater blinders on.

A few years back one of the byu guys spent his mission on North Carolina. Really tough to find a game anywhere in that state. No chance to improve back there.

Getting back to Polee , for some reason he does not seem to be playing or shooting at the same level he was at the end of last year. Could be a multitude of reasons but his outside shooting is off ,or he is trying to hard/pressing instead of letting the game come to him . IMO he should take advantage of his great leaping ability close to the basket for dunks or short jumpers ,also his FT% is down . He was a player that really benefitted last year when we played 1-3-1 zone that kick started his offense .

Polee has not hustled back after 2 turnovers and let AZ have dunks on both times.
Now, he lets the ball roll off his hands and leg with under a minute to play.
Perhaps, his legs are tired.

Is in a fog...up and down...loss of focus...WHY? He is the key.....best athlete on the team Because he is not a prime time player. Better as a 6th man off the bench for energy and defense. That's what he did last year very well. You can see he feels the pressure. Good catch and shoot guy (not great), does not create his own shot.

Think we all hope he can relax and start letting the game come to him . Use his great athletic talent , to his advantage near the basket . As Fisher has said ,the coach will not remove a starter for 1 bad game . So maybe he gets it in gear vs USD . Or maybe he prospers by watching the flow of the game then comes off the bench . Could have Zabo start at PG , Kell SG , and Polee comes in at SG after 4 or 5 minutes . He had a good first half the other night then not much of a second half .
