I don't consider BYU a rival. I consider them an enemy. I never want to play them again in any sport. Unfortunately SDSU has never kicked their butt enough to have them consider us a rival.

I know they do not consider us a rival but....I was at the game and I can tell you that they have hate in their eyes when the play us. They wanted to win bad. Afterwards going back to the hotel I was on cloud nine and I had to keep my cool not to talk smack every single BYU fan. I decided to not say anything at all and not even look at this like I did not give a rats ass. I got some very evil stares (especially from the women) It was a look of hate. I can tell you that for 100% sure. Now, I went to the BYU Purdue game in full SDSU gear (and my kid too) b/c my wife is a Boliermaker. (She had to remained me that SDSU was NOT playing them). They did not have the same look at them at all. There was no "hate" in their eyes (until they saw me at the end of another loss for them) So they can say all they want about not thinking we are a rival and maybe we aren't - but I know this for sure. They hate losing to us - maybe as much as anyone. I am so glad we won b/c I do not think I could have handled the smug condensing judgmental looks I was going to get around the hotel for the next few days. I just smiled and raised my drink (which was always in my hand) and said "Aloha" every time I passed a BYU fan. AZ fans on the other hand...very cool. Tons of props to us and respect for where we were and where we are now.

To some extent yes, but I started at SDSU in 1986 and I think its b/c we represent everything they hate (party school ect..) and they think they are so much better then us (and everyone) in so many us. Athletics is an just and outlet to showcase that. When they lose to us it really pisses them off. And....the Show is a big big reason.
