Not sure when the last time I saw a QB take a mugging as bad as Air Force signal caller Kale Pearson did last night.
It started on Air Force's first series of the game when Calvin Munson got him good on a roll out to the left side, and continued throughout the game.
They never said who got that clean hit on him in the second half on a long incomplete pass, but that was clearly the worst of them all....Was that Munson again??
Pearson was never the same after that hit and lead to Air Force coach Troy Calhoun asking him, "Are you OK??", when he came off the field after a failed series in the 4th quarter......Would not be surprised if he suffered a concussion, because he looked completely dazed when they showed him sitting on the bench.
Late in the game when he threw his Pick Six to Calvin Munson, they showed a replay of Pearson staggering up the field in a half-hearted effort to get Munson, but he clearly looked like he'd had enough.
It's my guess that 'ole Kale will stay in bed a little longer this morning, after the beating he took last night.

Credit to him and a great example of the type of character our academies put out. Our Air Force and nation are well served.

I root for the Academy guys when they aren't playing SDSU. He stood in there and took the shots. A tough kid. Glad he will be defending our country.

At this point I want to give some credit to Rocky. He came up with the game plan to stop the triple option and the pass. Looked like the game plan was to hit Pearson hard and hit him a lot, as witnessed by the first hit he took from Munson. It seemed that every time he took a hit somebody on defense would remind him that the hitting was going to go on all night. I admire the kid for hanging in there.
Don't forget that Rocky was a triple option QB for the Hobo's, so who would know better how to stop the option.

Believe that big hit was delivered by Largent.

The Aztecs' defense was very physical all night. Pearson took some hard shots and I am sure that took a toll.

Favorite line of the night, CBS announcer "the AF coaches just asked Pearson if he was alright, he is not alright." After the hit by Largent the only pass completed was a pick 6 to Munson.

The D played with an intensity not seen all season, especially in the second half. I would have hated to be a player in the locker room when Rocky was providing the motivation for this. IMO, he lit their rear ends up after the BSU game behind closed doors. The sense of urgency and desire to make plays and swarm to the ball was a thing of beauty.

It took 10 games to get the defense going, UNC, Fresno, Reno, Boise were all winnable games where we were outplayed on both sides of the ball in the second half. Another unfortunate year. Perhaps we go 7-5... Again?

Believe that big hit was delivered by Largent. Yup! He destroyed Pearson on that play. Also, it was great to see the refs let the defense play. I think we've all seen a couple clean hits get flagged against us this season.

Perhaps we go 7-5... Again? 7-5 looks pretty good now to most of us. 8-5 with a victory in Poinsettia even better. This was and is a very young team that returns many starters and contributors for 2015. I choose to see that thee prospects are very good for a big season next year.

First the hit by .... was a clean solid hit . Sure that Rocky wants the D to hit the QB , RB , or WR with good clean hits every game . Their QB did hang in their but as the announcers pointed out it seemed to send a message and did effect the way he played after that play . Not going to hang in the pocket as long or maybe even run as much . It should also be pointed out The Falcons had to play without their quality RB , changed their game plan and effectiveness . Very similar to what happened when we lost our QB for a couple of key games and when we lost Ruffin . Lose playmakers and it effects your play.

You never know, he may have been playing with a concussion after getting destroyed by Largent. Having had two of those in my life, it still boggles my mind how those guys manage to play through those. That play looked pretty weak on his part for sure though.
