If I had to predict I'd say that all of the Top 4 seeded teams in the Open division will make it to the semifinals. All four of those teams are exceptionally good.
In Division 1 it looks pretty wide open. I like Vista's chances, although it looks like they'll meet up with Steele Canyon again, and Steele Canyon dominated Vista (at Steele Canyon) earlier in the season. Of course, that was before Vista put Nate Johnson at QB, so I would expect a much more competitive game this time. If they meet up again (which I think is likely).

The big dog in Vista's portion of the bracket is Saint Augustine. The Saints are 5-5 having lost to a murderer's row of Oceanside, Loyola, Eastlake, Vista Murrieta, and Cathedral. I don't know if the Saints are healthy, but if they are, watch out.

Vista's only losses since putting Nate Johnson in at QB were to San Marcos and Mission Hills (and Vista should have won the game against San Marcos). If they meet up with Saint Augustine that could be an interesting game.
This should be a great, competitive year in the playoffs.

This will be the second time this season for the Helix v. Ramona. It wasn't close the first time, and after getting beat by El Cap last week, I think the Scotties will be ready.

Here's a shameless plug that I cannot resist posting. HiTekRadio (www.hitekradio.com) will do a live audio Internet webcast of the Vista/Olympian game Friday night at 7:00 PM. HiTekRadio is in year 14 of doing these Vista webcasts.

Vista proved to be too much for Olympian, winning 35-14.
And Vista was without their starting QB (and team spark plug) Nate Johnson for more than half the game as he was ejected early in the 2nd quarter for kicking an Olympian player who got rough on a tackle and injured Johnson's ankle. (Johnson was on his back when he kicked at the player who injured him.)
The big question is whether or not Vista appeals his disqualified status for their next playoff game. The fans in the stands thought the personal foul was going to be against the Olympian player who roughed Johnson up. As usual, it's the guy retaliating who gets caught and penalized.

Max Preps has a video of Nate Johnson kicking the Olympian player. Johnson was on his back and the Olympian player wouldn't let go of his leg after the play was over so Johnson kicked the guy's head in a kicking/pushing motion to get him off. Johnson then walks away limping, with the leg the player wouldn't let go of being the hurt leg. I have a feeling the guy was twisting his ankle, but the refs couldn't see it - I have that feeling because of the way the guy was holding Johnson's lower leg, and the way Johnson came up limping pretty badly. Johnson (over)reacted reflexively. Bad sitation all around if he can't play in the next game.
You can't retaliate. You've got to keep your cool. He didn't, and now he likely won't be able to play on Friday which is really going to hurt the team.
