I want him to break his season record for blocked shots this year and next. I think that is part of his problem. He goes for too many blocked shots and is not in position to rebound. He needs to only go after the block when he is in position to block it. You don't need to block EVERY shot to be a good defender because players will alter their shot just with the "idea" that they might get their shot blocked.

First get him actually involved in the offense , so the guys are looking for him down low to score and he knows it also . On D let hum hang a little more in the lane instead of chasing guys to the wing - with him in the middle of the lane in a zone would provide problems for other teams . Even just a few times a game .

I would compare Spencer free throw form to that of Jim Furyk's golf swing. It just doesn't look right, but he did make more FTs and the season progressed.
I think he is going to step up on the offensive side of the court this year. Last summer he had to deal with him mother's health issues so that had to impede his development some.
