What does it mean to reduce health care spending?

What is it that Barack Obama and the Congressional Democrats want to do with respect to health care? They want reductions, but reductions in what? It's really important that we understand the correct answer to that question. This writer has obviously focused on what matters in this debate.

It should not take all that much to see what the Democrats are trying to do just by adding above ten million more people to the Medicare program while cutting funding to that program. What other option under that plan do you have besides letting older folks die and giving poorer care to those remaining in the program? Harry Reid and the rest of the liberal Dems are just heartless and dishonest.
