It's always fun to see how "fans" dissect a loss ... especially when the attitude going into the game was particularly confident. First I will say my hat is off to Oregon St. ... they did not take us seriously on our first drive, but they woke up after we put 7 on the board.
The rest of the game their linemen beat us off the ball on both offense and defense. They harassed our QB more than we did theirs. Their WRs out played our secondary and burned us more than North Carolina did (guess they saw something in the tape). We never established a run game, and our offense quickly devolved into trying to force things on an individual level. This is when Pumphrey doesn't follow blocks, holding penalties and forced throws begin to happen.
This was an all around team loss. I know it is the habit of this board to find an individual to hold accountable and try to say if only this one person were changed for another it would have gone differently. No. We were outplayed in the trenches and the game is won or lost right there. We have a team that can win and compete in the MWC and probably in the lower end of a few P5 conferences, but right now the PAC-12 is not one of them.

SDSU could be recruiting at a higher level, after all Boise's new staff is landing 4 star recruits with mid tier bcs offers. If Brett Rypien isn't flipped by a P5 school before signing day, I'll be very surprised. Although Boise's recruiting is superior to ours, Rypien is the only 4-star guy and without him, the two schools would be almost exactly the same in 247Sports' national rankings. As to QK, truaztec makes a good point. No way do you just throw Bawden in right now as the starter. Assuming we beat UNLV decisively - and considering the game will be pay back for last year's debacle in the desert we should - then I would favor letting Bawden play the entire fourth quarter on Saturday.
