Does this thread title sound alarmist? Good! It damned well better sound alarmist. Please read this piece and you will understand the monstrous evil that Obama and his party are eager to foist upon the American people. These concerns are so self-evident that one wonders how the Democrats can with a clear conscience try to get this plan enacted. Are they too stupid to understand the problems inherent in ObamaCare? Do they not give a dam? Do they actually want people to die sooner than they ought to? One explanation does suggest itself. It's all about money. But let's not forget that most of the Democrats involved in this scheme will not have to abide by the terms of the brave new health care system they wish to implement. The rich . . . and most Democrats in Congress these days are indeed well off financially . . will always be able to afford the best for themselves and their families. But what about the rest of us? Please read this and explain to me, if you can, why we should not be very frightened by this. www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2009/12/07/the_cold_heart_of_obamacare_99441.htmlAzWm

I hope we have enough folks who will call or write their Senator to explain how this bill must be changed to not be really bad for the entire country and not just the seniors that they seem to want to kill off.

Last year, Californians voted YES for a $9.95 Billion bond issue as a down payment for a $33 Billion high speed rail system that may carry its first passengers as soon as 2017 and is expected to be complete by 2020. It's projected to connect San Diego, through LA to San Francisco with trains that will go almost 300 MPH. It was presented to voters with slick TV commercials featuring computer animations of zooming trains. Now, just over a year later ... the cost estimate is above $40 Billion the projected fares are up (from $55 to $105 for a one-way fare between SF and LA) the projected ridership is down due to the fare increase The trains will be truly high speed only between Palmdale (well north of LA) and Gilroy (well south of SF). The rest of the trip will be at conventional speeds. John PS: "Health Care Reform" will deliver quality health care to more people and the program costs will be "deficit-neutral". The proponents said so.
