Thanks for the link. I found it funny how East Coast Aztec said there that this board is full of homers when he once said on the MWC board that he doesn't post on AztecMesa because there's so much bickering here. He's a knowledgeable poster but seems like one strange guy. Also gotta love the half dozen Tar Heels who say you guys are going to put more than 50 points on the board. Our defense isn't great but it isn't that bad either and for those of you who haven't followed Rocky Long's teams, his offenses always chew up a lot of the clock so teams never run as many plays against us as they normally do. I predict the game will be close at the half but then UNC pulls away and wins by about 17. I could be wrong on this, and he can correct/confirm if he wishes, but I was under the impression EastCoastAztec from the MWCBoard is the same as SDSUdevil on this board. yep. And to address me saying that this board is homer, it is. Nothing wrong with a team board being that way, but it also causes me to post on the MW board more than here. Not trying to be disrespectful of fellow Aztec fans. Just trying to ensure they don't jump to conclusions, and since I also have ties to the Heels, I suppose I try to quell any wrong perceptions of either side. Inside Carolina is just as homer, fwiw.

As he's now told me via PM, that is correct. As I've now told him, I disagree that this is any more of a homer board than the average message board out there. In fact, a few have already prognosticated that come Saturday night, there will be plenty of criticism of Rocky again. We have a healthy mix of homerific rainbow huggers, sky is falling bedwetters, and even-keeled smart people like me (yet leaning more toward the rainbow than anything) in the middle.

Family obligations will prevent me from attending. REALLY bummed. But will be cheering on and toasting those there from NoDak. Go Aztecs, safe journeys to all! Sorry to hear. Safe travels!

Thanks for confirming. I haven't seen a school's message board yet that didn't have some elements of extreme homerism here and there. I think most are brought back down to earth eventually either from results on the field, or realistic responses from fellow posters.

Mayyyybe we contained them. WE BARELY came away with both of those victories. & Neither of those QB's are all that great honestly. And we all know San Jose State and Nevada are not good defensive comparisons to UNC either. I'm not saying UNC is going to crush us, But i AM saying that their mobile QB will be a big challenge if we are to take them down. Three times, actually. Like I said, we contained enough to get the win. It doesn't matter by how much we won. WE WON. Marquise Williams is no Braxton Miller either. Edit: Fedora had him split time with a true frosh. So I don't see him as being a big a challenge as you think. Trubisky is a red shirt freshman; he was highly rated from Ohio but turned the Buckeyes down to come to UNC because of Fedora's offense and we got the TE from that high school team as well... Ohio State could really use him right now given Miller's shoulder... anyway, he is getting playing time because he is the real deal and he can run too, so it won't matter which plays but he is too good to sit... and that is the last thing the Heels are worried about since we can't stop the run and Pumphrey and Price might both have career days... gonna' be a wild ride Saturday night...

regarding Inside Carolina, of course it's homer...
just go over there and tell them you like "state" (ncsu), or dook and watch what happens...
Edit: Hey, how's this for homerism - many of us think Trubisky might be a Heisman candidate before he graduates...
or a certain Fr RB named Elijah Hood #34, 6'1", 220...
now he is a true freshman who runs a 4.43 forty and has already squatted 600+...
there is already a video of him trucking a defender from the first game on the web...

If you can't be a homer on your teams message board, where can you be?

Tar Heels ranked (Tied for) #21, up a spot from a week ago. Beating these guys would be great!

Thanks for the correction, Mojave. I'm not down playing either of the Tar Heel QBs. They're definitely good QBs. Looking forward fo the match on Saturday.

Drug store that sells burgers....interesting Oh you kids. No appreciation for history. There was a time when every major drug store had a lunch counter with a fry cook/soda jerk. They usually made great burgers and the best milk shakes in the world. Then came Jack in the Box, McDonalds, etc. and all was lost. On another point. We seem to have a batch of Tar Heels posting here this week. So far there hasn't been a troll among them. What a nice change of pace from the UNM crowd. Ha-Ha, love your line about the drug store lunch counters, but sometimes I wonder if children are learning anything in school about American history. Or, do they not have grandparents, or parents who do not tell them stories about the old days and their experiences.

Or, do they not have grandparents, or parents who do not tell them stories about the old days and their experiences. Everything I said about them is true. The burgers were just a little crispy around the edges. The buns were toasted on the grill. They made the milk shakes with real ice cream using those Hamilton Beach milk shake mixers in a tall metal container. The shake was poured into a tall glass. The best part was after you emptied the glass there was always about a quarter of a glass left in the metal mixing container, which had been left for you. That last bit was always the best. It seemed like you were getting extra for free. In the UNC Tailgate thread several of the NC posters are talking about some of the soda fountain counters around there. Bad enough I'm not going back there for the game, now I'm going to miss a great lunch. Unfortunately the answer to your last question is "no." The kids today are not learning about American history. They aren't even learning about their own family histories. sigh

Thanks Stu. looks like I might be back Virginia way in mid-October. If so, I was thinking about taking a day and heading out to Shenandoah, maybe hike Old Rag Mountain. If so, I'll stop by the 'burg, maybe we can catch an Aztec game over a beer somewhere.

After hearing Kevin OC on the DSmith show, i cannot wait for the Rocky Show on fox sports SD thursday night to see how we will attack UNC. i've been less confident about this game, but the more i hear, the better i feel about our ability in this game.

When media pundits keep hammering how terrific UNC is while giving SDSU no ink, positive or negative, then the average Joe starts believing the hype. That's the reason 'Vegas has those monstrous casinos.

Check out this evaluation of our team from TarHeelBlog.com www.tarheelblog.com/2014/9/2/5983819/opponent-preview-san-diego-stateThey still have Tim Vizzi as our 2nd receiver option. And here's some in depth analysis: "If UNC can keep the ball out of the end zone this game should not be that difficult" Wow.......Just Wow.

Well they should have a tough time locating Vizzi in the pass patterns.

"On the defensive side of the ball the Aztecs are a relatively weak team. Although they were 8-5 last season the Aztecs were outscored 412-387 across all their games"
Perhaps the same guy whom thinks we are in the Big West?
