If the spurs can fix Josh's shot like they did Kawhi's, then they are miracle workers.

Josh is a project, but if the Spurs are willing to take him in, that is HIGH praise from the best organization in the NBA.

Rebounding and defense translate. Not everyone has to be a scorer.
Josh also sets monster picks, a big plus in the offense the spurs use

sure his jumper needs work - but during the regular season - most teams are very cavalier in their game - Josh is an infusion of "hustle", I'm sure kawhi will be an great influence on him & hell they are both "modest bros'

He fits their personality of good players that seem to have good character.

According to multiple sources, the San Antonio Spurs have signed former San Diego State forward Josh Davis to a multi-year contract. how does the work - is this locked in? no 10 day contract? no being claimed (if he's in the D league)? Unless they're a FA from last year almost every player who is signing during this time frame is not signing a guaranteed contract. They're partially guaranteed, basically paying him to attend camp & try & make the team. At that point his pay will revert to whatever league he's playing in, and since EU starts earlier he'll most likely play D-league if he doesn't make their roster, although he could try & catch on late with a EU/AU team if they have an opening for a NA player. I don't know what classification he'd fall into for pay in the D-league, but hopefully among the upper tier. SA is a good opportunity, and a great learning experience, but will be extremely hard to make the team. Haven't checked their guaranteed salary list, but typically for someone like him to make a roster they not only have to justify being good enough to make a roster and better than another player, but also better to the point they're willing to pay Josh AND eat another guaranteed salary. Tough win, but doable. SA gave a friend of mine a shot in Aron Baynes and he's really grown on that roster. I have a feeling Josh will follow the same path - try out, get some camp experience, then play elsewhere & develop his O-game for another shot with the same team in 1-2 years. It's obvious he made a good impression on them in Vegas.

According to Lebron James, the Spurs play the best "team" ball. According to Chris Bosh, the Spurs played the best basketball he's ever seen.
Now the Spurs want Josh Davis. Speaks volumes about him and the SDSU program, doesn't it?
Oldie Out

Now if we can get Polee and Shep in there as well we can be to the Spurs what UNM is to the Bulls...but with rings. That pretty much cemented the Bulls won't win any post season games.

Josh is a project, but if the Spurs are willing to take him in, that is HIGH praise from the best organization in the NBA. Elite level rebounders with endless motors, who play great D always have a spot on NBA rosters. Some have good careers like Rodman or Ben Wallace.

Just a great opportunity for JD. That's all one can ask for. He has to do it from here.
It will not be easy, but I think he can do it.
Good luck JD! You deserve all the best.

If Josh comes in for just 5 minutes - any announcer will mention San Diego State & connection to Kawhi.
Wishing Josh the best!

So happy for Josh, the Spurs are a perfect team for him to go to.
You can make a living in the NBA as a specialist...guys like former NBA player Popeye Jones come to mind as a rebounder. Josh Davis is relentless and an absolute beast on the boards, I love his game.
Just shows how smart the Spurs are, I hope he gets a chance to show what he can do and under Pop I bet he does.

As said before this move by SA basically sets him up to play for the Toros, extremely unlikely to make the roster.
