SDSU will lose at Boise next week. I was thinking SDSU should beat AFA but now I am not sure that's a win. SDSU should beat SJSU.

Air Force is looking really good lately. Held UNLV to 1.1 yards per rush AT Vegas I think SDSU will have to beat SJSU to have a chance to bowl but at 6-6 no team deserves a bowl. Aztecs best win might be against SJSU as Hawaii no longer looks that good. Really a bad season. Just cant imagine them bowling.

Considering where the games were played, we played Fresno a FG better than SJSU did whereas they played UNLV a FG better than we did. Ergo, looking at common opponents, SDSU and SJSU are identical right now. Even assuming the Spartans beat crummy Hawaii in SJ next Saturday, since they won't win at USU the following week, they will already be bowl ineligible when they come to Qualcomm the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Given the weekend, particularly if we lose at Boise like all rational fans think we will, attendance for that season finale will probably be under 20 grand and although we don't consider SJSU to be a rival, the feeling isn't mutual and they're going to be motivated as hell if by beating us, they can ruin our chances to get to a bowl. So nobody should just assume that game will go in the win column.

We don't seem to consider any of our long ago rivals as rivals now, although they do consider us as rivals. That's unfortunate for our team and our fans.

Most fans (please see attendance over the years) have "moved on" to bigger expectations. The team and coach, sadly, have not kept up with those expectations. Therefore, a disconnect, and the balloon is airless.
