It would be nice if he can earn a spot on their roster. Come on Josh, work on those free throws.

Free from the burden of classes ... Josh should have plenty of time and professional guidance in developing not only his Free Throws, but his Jump Shot and overall scoring ability on offense.

Very few players will work harder than Josh. I like his chances.

His play reminds me so much of Dennis Rodman. Rebounding maintained his NBA career.

The dude is a hustling rebounding machine. There's always a roster spot for those type of players.

MWC Media Office . . . FAIL. Josh's hometown is Raleigh, not Charlotte. Entirely different cultures. And yes, there is a difference, whether you like it or not.

The NBA could use more guys like Josh Davis and less like Andrew Byrnum.

I would be shocked if Josh Davis made an NBA squad. As much as I like him, and am proud to call him anAztec, the guy has zero offensive game. The NBA just doesn't make room for guys like Dennis Rodman anymore. If Malcolm Thomas can't stay with a team, I don't give Josh Davis much of a chance.

He did well in the NBA summer league. His last game he scored 18 and 14 boards, he averaged 9 pts and 10 boards over the summer and even hit 65% from the line. ID like to see him earn a spot.

He has much more offensive game than you guys saw last year, I promise you that. He just really wasn't asked to or given the chance to show it.

Ehh I heard coaches say they needed more offense from Josh. He wasn't a primary target on offense but he also won't be on an NBA team. I think Josh was too timid about getting his shot blocked so he would release the ball too early or try to go too high off the glass or see ghosts when he needed to just go up strong. He is undersized, and who knows, maybe there were some nicks and bruises last year that might have limited his usual vertical boost but he's got to add more versatility to his offensive repertoire. He pretty much relied on put backs and hard drives to his left. A jump stop, pump fake, and also keeping his head up to read the defense when driving to distribute and/or react to defense would help him significantly. Just being able to slow the game down mentally when he has the ball so he can keep his same quickness without rushing things would be the best asset to add to his game in my opinion.

From what I saw in limited summer league action, I found myself saying "wow, he can finish around the rim with a jam."

I see JD in a Kurt Rambus or Dennis Rodman role. He definitely will compliment the primary and secondary scorer by giving them 2nd chances w/ O.R.s. He's the engergizer bunny personified.

The most energized guy on the court every game of the summer league, by far. I thought Josh looked awesome the entire summer league. Even when he wasn't putting up the numbers, he definitely had an effect on the game with his hustle and ferociousness under the boards. He would be a great addition for any team that already is loaded with scoring, and looking for a hustler/defender/rebounder. Like the role bird man had on the heat. His offense will come along because he works his ass off. He looked a lot better from the free throw line in summer league.
