Spent three campaigns at his alma mater, the University of San Diego, where he coached the tight ends in 2010 and 2011. He also assisted with the Toreros' offensive line and wide receivers during his tenure. In 2011, helped USD finish 9-2 overall and in second place in the Pioneer Football League standings. He also tutored Toreros' tight end Patrick Doyle, who signed a rookie contract with the San Diego Chargers in June 2012. Spent 2009 as an administrative assistant helping with the day-to-day operations in the Toreros' football office.
