If he was a full qualifier out of high school then he will be eligible to transfer to a D1 program and have three years to play 3.

So is he playing 2014 season his second at the JCC ? or ?? What are the rules for him and his eligibility ? also Things could get very interesting if the PAC submit rules changes (January ) that do not require a transfer to sit if they have a GPA of above a 2.6 from another conference . Sounds like he's a RS FR at Saddle, but also that he was fully eligible out of HS (meaning he's not required to get his AA before transferring). If that's the case, he should be a 3 for 3, correct? RS in '13 (clock starts); play CC in '14; play at SDSU in '15-17. That would be a great get. Don't get too many 3 for 3's from a JC these days. What makes people think we wouldn't offer him a scholarship. Is the '15 class full? Seems like a kid you'd definitely throw a scholarship at!

If the 4 star transfer from Arizona has to walk on this kid will surely have to do the same if he wants to come to SDSU. Completely different circumstances though. The AZ kid transferred in the spring, after scholarships are locked up & has to RS. This Martinez kid is, or could be, available thru normal recruiting process & open to sign in February, and would be available immediately. So unless we're at 25 scholarships... Heyward & Rodrigues are both on scholarship. My guess is the Arizona kid will be as well next year - believe in your 3rd year you don't have to fit within the whole 25 class scholarship limit. Being known as a "rebound" recruiting spot is not a bad thing!

I'm not sure what his status was at Nebraska. He left Nebraska right before the summer. SDSU was a possibility for him to transfer to then. Hence the no scolly talk. Now that he's at Saddleback, he can transfer with a scholarship if he decides to come here.
