Sounds pretty level headed. Are we so invested in trying to apply pressure through sanctions and such that a even handed well thought out approach is not now workable. Would this have to come from someplace other than the Obama Administration to have any consideration?

So, what if the USA needs to do a space mission to repair the satellites which provide our GPS? No problem, just ask the Russians......oops! Wait, don't we still have functioning space agency? No? Oops!

As ZB points out Ukraine may not want to be Finland.

As ZB points out Ukraine may not want to be Finland. Maybe, but why? Sounds like a much more stable condition than at present with lots more economic opportunity.

That should do it.

There are so many useless government departments (Education, Interior) which I would reallocate funds from in order to refund NASA.

There are a lot of dangerously flawed policies which this administration has pushed. As a result, have a dead ambassador, a Russian leader who is threatening to start WWIII and a weakened American Military who's depleted resources must deal with renewed Chinese and North Korean threats. To make matters worse, many of our senior military leaders were replaced last year with Obama paper pushing lackeys who failed to warn our president about Vladimir Putin's ambitious military plans. Of course there is nothing any of us can do about any of this except wait and hope the insane little despot in North Korea doesn't lob his new generation of ICBMs at San Francisco or LA.

A dead ambassador is not a laughing matter btw.

The DOD just absorbed the funds for more weapons. Too much of that sciencey thing for some of certain political bent.
