What to do about Putin? It's a darned difficult question to answer. For instance, should the French tell Putin to go play with toy boats instead of the big ones they are building for Russia? How's that? You've never heard of those ships? I hadn't either. An interesting story that stresses how difficult these questions are.

I had not heard of this either. If they are ordering LHD type ships they must see value in mobile forces with a method of landing them from sea just as we do.

I'm not too concerned, it should be pointed out that Russia is buying ships from France, a country who hasn't won a decisive naval battle since Yorktown. A significant dry spell since the days of Jean Bart.
