This will prove to be pretty much on target.

before i click, i'm going to guess something like 'a grand socialist scheme to make people dependent on government and vote for democrats' well, your reputation precedes you... if more doctors are needed, and compensation for doctors is decreasing, the law of supply and demand dictates that the cost of medical school will...? in fact, if you believe in capitalism, the cost of medical school will keep falling until the incentive to go to medical school matches the benefits of the profession.

Shortage of doctors and lack of interest from the public will kill this thing once and for all.
I have a lot of relatives in Germany who are doctors. And the senior members are telling their kids to find another career. It just ain't worth it for the hours of study, hours of work and lousy pay.

doctors that go into medicine for the money are the shi6ty ones anyway Come one, think this through a bit. Are you saying that the ideal doctors would be individuals who would work for minimum wage after putting in over a decade of grueling study and practice, not to mention piling up an enormous debt in student loans? If one wants to name professions that deserve very good compensation, medicine would be on everyone's top 5 list, don't you think? Of course we want people who are dedicated to healing patients; it's unlikely that there are many practicing physicians who went into medicine solely for the bucks. AzWm

AzWm 1. Nope. Nice strawman though. 2. Absolutely. 3. There are some, but I agree not a sizable amount. Refer to my post you quoted. Ill repost this. The botched web site is just the tip of the iceberg. Web support is the easy part, what happens when we actually need care? The same inept mechanism which couldn't put together a functioning web site after 3 years of prep time will now be in control of our lives. That's a scary thought.

Since all care will be provided by the insurance companies and doctors that currently provide care, I think your comment is uneducated at best.

Since all care will be provided by the insurance companies and doctors that currently provide care, I think your comment is uneducated at best. In what ways? When Insurance Companies are leaving different States in droves and Doctors are dropping some types of coverage or just retiring early, your statement is the one that seems uneducated at best. I think we all realize that the very expensive but non functioning web site is the least of the problems. This will become a cascading or even cascoding series of troubles that effect a sixth of the economy. (Speller does not like cascoding so look up cascode or think simultaneous parallel problems.)
