Robby pitched his last game of the year yesterday. He will turn 23 soon. This year started rather badly for Robby but he ended on a roll. His 2013 "AAA" ERA was a rather unimpressive 5.07 in 22 starts (he had been outstanding at all minor league levels before that). On July 7th he gave up 9 runs in Washington to ballon his MLB ERA to 7.15. His 4 MLB starts to that point had included 2 quality starts, but his overall results were negative. But Robby did get another chance in the big league and took full advantage of it. Date | Opp | Inn | Hits | Walks | Ks | Runs | Pitches | 28-Aug | at Ari | 6 | 6 | 2 | 2 | 1 | 98 | 3-Sep | SF | 5.1 | 6 | 2 | 5 | 2 | 98 | 14-Sep | at ATL | 6 | 8 | 1 | 3 | 2 | 93 | 20-Sep | LAD | 7.2 | 4 | 1 | 7 | 0 | 105 | 26-Sep | Ari | 7 | 3 | 1 | 7 | 2 | 85 | Total | | 32 | 27 | 7 | 24 | 7 | 479 | Whip | 1.06 | | | | | | | ERA | 1.97 | | | | | | | P/Inn | 14.97 | | | | | | | P/7 inn | 104.78 | | | | | | |
He is back in the mix of pitchers competing for a starting job next year. I think he will begin 2014 in "AAA" but could be an early call to replace an injured or ineffective starter.
