On the morning of June 26 Will Venable woke up and looked at his stats online. It was not a pretty sight. A .210 batting average, a .257 on base percentage, and a .415 slugging percentage. Will shook his head and wondered if he should change his stance or maybe carry a rabbits foot. He was ready to try anything. He was eligible for his 3rd arbitration in the coming off season but with numbers like this the Padres would probably cut him instead of going through the process.
There was a knock on the door and Will was surprised to find a kind old lady holding a different kind of contract. She explained that Will could get better. The Disguise worked and Will thought it was a rude fan asking for an autograph. Since June 26, Will has batted .344 with a .382 on base and amazing .582 slugging.
It didn't matter if he hit against lefties or in Petco Park. Both were his downfall prior to that old ladies doings.
Petco Park 3 year toal .228 .301 .373 2013 total amplified by numbers after June 26 .281 .332. 568
Against Lefties 3 year toal .190 .275 .288 2013 total amplified by numbers after June 26 .293 .321 .587
Nothing has phased him. He has been locked in like the chost of Ken Caminiti. Maybe he should have been more careful when signing "autographs".

It's like a virus. I call it Chase Headleyitis. It could easily disappear again next year.

Knowing how the other two fared the following year doesn't lead to a lot of confidence.
