Wow, This has to be the lowest I have ever felt as a fan. Visiting team pitches a no hitter and there are more people in the stands cheering for SF then the hometown team. I had season tickets just a few years ago.... Now you'll need to pay me to even watch it on TV.

pathetic.
How can you fault San Diego fans for being fair weather? Who would want to watch that $#!+ every night?

I had season tickets just a few years ago.... Now you'll need to pay me to even watch it on TV. Can't argue with either you or Tecy. It wasn't just a matter of "more people" cheering for SF. It sounded like 80%. I too had season tix for a while but the whole thing is exasperating. Of course I'm obviously still a fan on some level or I wouldn't be posting about the team. Big problems though. Real big. It's hard to name a single starter who would replace his counterpart on a good team. In fact I can't. The only thing I'll say is that Gyorko appears to be the goods. He might actually be an All Star type. The other issue is the farm system. I don't care where it's ranked. It seems like our best prospects either turn out to be utility players or develop injuries, almost always very serious ones. We got a guy called Rymer Liriano who is supposed to be one of our two or three best minor leaguers. He's got a busted elbow, but even notwithstanding that, check out his numbers. He's no difference maker. Where's our Buster Posey? Logan Forsythe is the same age, and he was hyped (not by me of course) as one of our great "up and coming" players. Then to top it all off, we're waiting for the likes of Clayton Richard, who himself is damn near 30 and has a broken wing. This AT&T park is really nice. Wait, you mean this was Petco Park? I've seen 3 no-hitters now--2 in 2001, and now Timmy tonight. Come on Padres, mix in a hit once in awhile.

Disgusting, gutless performance as is standard operating procedure these days. So much wrong with Padre baseball beyond just the product on the field.

For those keeping score, that was the 8th no hitter thrown against the Padres since their MLB inception. Padres total? You don't need to count that high really.
I don't know how many cycles have been hit against the boys but again our number is zero.
I agree with JYP. There is a lot of hype about our farm system yet it seems that position players that are even close are already on the ML roster. Arms seem to rotate in and out with no one really consistent or dominant like a Shelby Miller.
Carlos Quentin got a $9 million contract and yet he is the 20th ranked left fielder in the game as far as RBI production goes. That's not outfielders, it's just left fielders. The opportunity for run production for the whole team has certainly been there. But just look at those amazing numbers on RISP. We get bases loaded with none out. Then pop out, KO, and ground out.
Maybin still gone for a long time. Grandal will be back next year at earliest. Cabrera may or may not miss 50 games along the way. Headley can't hit the broad side of a barn. And it's just too painful to examine the pitching staff.
There is a lot of calls for firing Black. Just like there was long ago for Bochy. But just who is going to come in here and raise the dead? Who will make lemonade out of this moldy bunch of lemons?

Padres run differential of -70 is 2nd worst in the NL. Only the Miami Marlins are worse.

As luck would have it, I was at the game last night. I gave up the season tix a while back, then became a single game purchaser, and then went to tv fan status as I could not justify the cost and hassle of games at Petco. Last night was an event that I attended and the game was part of the event, otherwise I would have passed.
80%+ were San Fran Fans. Now they aren't Dodger fans but man Gigante fans are mostly douchebags. So watching that 2.5A (I will not insult AAA clubs by calling them 3A) club go out there and just walk through the motions and let a washed up pitcher (PED or no PED) throw slop up to the plate and get a no hitter was one of the lowest moments as a San Diego sports fan. The team rolled over and wet itself like a puppy for a slop pitcher and they howled in the stands, the only saving grace was that it was not Dodger fans and we did not have to fight our way out of Petco.
We have been promised the A's commitment to build it right and compete over time without major dollars. I have no idea the time table but I am pretty sure in 50 years the farm system will be supplying 4A talent and not 2.5A talent for us to overpay for tickets and have our cable bills increase all for the pleasure of watching this garbage.....
I would not be shocked to see Buddy quit after this year, they give him nothing to work with. Nothing. We are very close to having a roster filled with players no other team would want. The only saving grace is Headly and he is quickly eroding any interest. SO very soon, we will be the real life versions of the Major League Indians crew.
As for the new Owners, I guess pride and commitment to winning only matters when it is a City that you are connected to and love. This $#!+ would not be going down if they had dodgers across the jersey.
Just me, but I will not be watching them on TV anymore either. There is no fun in listening to the excuses, to watch Endberg expose himself to not be a legend of Broadcasting but a bufoon, or to listen to transplant analysts stroke us on how close we are to turning the corner. But what do we expect as a Fan Base that accepts:
#6 to be retired. We are so low that we celebrate home run that didn't even win the series? #31 to be retired. We are so low that we retire a man's number because we could buy a plaque at Cooperstown with that retirement and front office job? That's right, we bought that plaque. We know have the fine distinction of having the rules changed for the team selection for a players cap because we have no self esteem. The people at Cooperstown knew we bought that plaque and changed the rules to stop the insanity of having Trevor Hoffman select Milwaukee as his cap for a few bags of silver.
We reap what we sow......

After the futile suckage displayed yesterday vs. Lincecum the friars are up 8-1. Go figure?

How sad that SD cannot put together an ownership that can give the people the little bit they want. SD fans are so tolerant. When will they...we catch a break?

At what point does Volquez get removed from the rotation? He has been so effing bad. His ERA is 5.70!! Is it just that we don't have enough healthy arms, that we have to tolerate watching this turd pitch? For what it's worth, Latos is having a damned fine season pitching half the time in a hitters park.
