Having a very solid Rookie season so far. Good chance for Rookie of the Year.

Slow start but has been playing much better recently. Month | BA | OBP | SLG | OPS | HR | April | .247 | .317 | .323 | .640 | 0 | May | .303 | .361 | .545 | .906 | 6 |
I suspect he will settle between those numbers. If May is the norm, he is an All-Star.

Went big fly last night again. I like this kid a lot. When's the last time we've had a 2nd baseman that's hit 7HR's in a season?

Please don't ever mention that name again, I had almost totally blocked his lazy but out of my memory bank. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using proboards

Gyorko's legit. Gonna be our best offensive second baseman since Mark Loretta.

The Jerk is going to be great! His swing is almost slump proof in that he doesnt have much going on to hinder his path to the ball. He'll eventually become a 280-300 guy with 20 plus HR's a season. At this point, I would put him in the 3 slot so Headley can get his Long swing a bit further down in the lineup.

He's at it again. Went 4 for 5, hit HR number 8, and now has 25 RBI's. He's also batting at a 288 clip right now. Like I said, he's in line for ROY. There is that Puig fellow out there now though.

His defense has been a pleasant surprise. He has been much better defensively than I hopped he would be.
Speaking of defense...it is nice to see Maybin back in CF. He is good for an extra catch every 2 games or so. That is significant.

Bummer. Gyorko headed to the DL. Groin strain.

Mark Loretta (probably on steroids) hit .335 with 16 home runs in 2004. He had a great 3 year run with us.

He plays CF very well and only does what is necessary to catch the ball.

Gyorko's legit. Gonna be our best offensive second baseman since Mark Loretta. Unless I'm forgetting someone, Gyorko's probably already our best offensive 2B ever. Who's been better? Derrel Thomas? The Almighty Flan? Alomar had a good career but he wasn't here long and so far Gyorko's outpacing him too (though it's obviously pretty early). I will always have a special place in my heart for Wiggins's 70 SB in '84. RIP.

I suspect he will settle between those numbers. If May is the norm, he is an All-Star. His June has been cut short, but with limited PA(42) he has managed to improve over May. Month | BA | OBP | SLG | OPS | HR | April | .247 | .317 | .323 | .640 | 0 | May | .303 | .361 | .545 | .906 | 6 | June | .325 | .349 | .575 | .924 | 2 |
