I don't know if any of you guys are as nerdy about baseball as I am, but I'm geeked about the draft. It's in two weeks, on June 6.
I'm not really a fan of any teams in particular, but I'm definitely curious to see who the Padres go with at #13. It's not a deep draft at all, but after Jonathan Gray and Mark Appel at the top it's wide open. My personal favorites for the first round are Kris Bryant (USD 3B/OF who is probably the consensus #3 pick to Colorado at this point), Dominic Smith (LA high school kid who plays 1B/OF) and Phillip Ervin (OF at Samford who killed it on the Cape last summer).
Anyway, thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone wants to talk draft; I can't get enough of it.

Like Smith if he lasts to 13. 92 off the mound and can really hit.

Like Smith if he lasts to 13. 92 off the mound and can really hit. I've seen a mock that has Smith to the Padres. He's probably my favorite guy that will be around at that point, although I do like Reese McGuire and Austin Meadows quite a bit too (just assuming they'll be off the board). I'd only be disappointed (as someone who watches a lot of Padres baseball) if they pick Stanek, Shipley or Renfroe. All of them have things to like, I just favor others more.
