I do believe that is Westgate park. I was taken there by my parents, but I was only a baby so I don't remember. However, I have a couple game programs my old man left behind. It is indeed Westgate Park. Where Fashion Valley sits today.

Heck,I had a hard time trying to describe the Market Street area of downtown as it once was to a young person the other day. My,has the area really changed. 'Henry's Barbecue' (Before it was sold and is now history) on 15th and Market came to mind,as did other nearby businesses such as 'Sammy The Banana King','Hudson Shoes','Toyco',etc. No one could make a barbecue sandwich like old man Henry could. His barbecue prowess would eventually spawn a chain of local restaurants ('The Barbecue Pit'). My godfather, who owned a barber shop on 16th and Market, introduced me to Henry and his hole-in-the-wall place and amazing sandwiches.

It is indeed Westgate Park. Where Fashion Valley sits today. Many of the Spring Training parks in Arizona look quite a bit like Westgate, including the large grass banks in the outfield. Unfortunately, I didn't go to that many games there, as I was only 13 the last year they played there. I will always remember the foul balls banging on top of that metal roof. And to think that place was only there about 10 years.

My dad took me to a lot of games there in the 60's. Watched a lot of players come through on their way to the big leagues. I was variously a Phillies or Reds fan as well, depending on who our parent team was at the time.
