I don't think these recent arrests have been getting the attention they deserve. The Obama administration would rather tilt at the Fox News windmill than brag about how many domestic terrorists are being caught right on our doorstep.
This is an interesting case. Certainly, the Dems are happy that these plots were not carried out. Two or three terrorists massacres in U.S. malls or on U.S. trains would go a long way to securing GOP control, at the very least, of the House of Reps. next year.
On the other hand, to make a big deal of this would be to recognize that we are very much still in a fight against radical Islamic terrorism. You remember, don't you, that we have declined to continue the war on terrorism? Well, that's what the current administration says.
Sooner or later one or more of these plots is going to succeed, and we will have dozens, if not hundreds, or maimed bodies on the evening news to remind us that there are many in the world who would be happy to die if their deaths would produce such results.
If I were to be really nasty I would make a remark hear about how Obama's speech to the Islamic world had not quite eliminated terror. . . uh, I mean man-caused overseas contingencies.
