Below are the DBack starters with ERA. The ones we will face are bolded. Patrick Corbin 1.91 Saturday Wade Miley 2.37 Friday Trevor Cahill 2.61 Ian Kennedy 4.78 Sunday Brandon McCarthy 7.22 Tough Series. We faced their best starters and took the series. Padres are playing well. 6-1 at home over their last 7. Winning at home is something they have lacked over the years. Even the times they won the NL West or won over 90 games they were still near the bottom in home winning percentage. It is good to see them playing well at home. 2010 the Padres were 2 games better than the Giants on the road. But at home the Giants were 4 games better than the Padres. 2007 the Padres tied for 3rd, one game behind Arizona and tied with Colorado. The Padres were 4 games better than Colorado on the road and 2 games better than Arizona. 2006 the Padres were tied with the Dodgers for first but were 6 games better on the road. 2005 the Padres had a good home record and won the NL West. 2004 the Padres finished in 3rd but had the best road record in the NL West. You could say the Padres always play well on the road or that the Padres always played badly at home. What ever the case, their home winning percentage, based upon their road winning percentages and league average differences, should have been a lot higher. Hopefully this year we will find a way to at least have an average home field advantage.
