The offense has been slightly better than I expected, and has probably exceeded some other expectations, especially since the Pads have yet to get anything productive from Maybin or Grandal (PED suspension), and Headley missed most of the season thus far.
Padres rank 10th in the NL in runs scored.
7th in BA at .245. Respectable. 14th out of 15 teams with only 20 homeruns on the year.
The pitching has been absolutely terrible.
Dead last in the NL in ERA (4.57), strikeouts (167) and quality starts (eight!!).

Yonder Alonso has been a terror at Petco thus far. At home, he is hitting .364 with an OBP of .431 and a .954 OPS.
On the road, .214/.267/.624.
Pretty crazy to see splits like that after a month in the books, but it's still early. He has hit 2 homers on the road, and only 1 at Petco.
As Bill would say, perhaps he is the "right kind of hitter" for Petco. Last year, he also had a higher home OPS but it was much closer (.761 to .723).
