First good news of the off season. I really like Stauffer. Hopefully he can remain healthy this year. When he is he is effective.
In the 3 years before his injury shortened 2012 (1 appearance) he pitched 341 innings with a 3.24 ERA.

Love the Stauff. He real came into his own over the last 5 years. Hopefully he recovers from his arms surgery without any setbacks.
as for the off-season, yeah, this was definitely the lone bright spot. Owners are full of $#!+.

Thank god for the Aztecs, our pro sports franchises are owned by wealthy ass-hats.

He's been with the Padres forever. His first real year on the Padres was 2010 when he had a great year out of the bullpen.

This was a good move, as was cutting him. He was looking at probably $3.5 million for this year if they hadn't.

This was a good move, as was cutting him. He was looking at probably $3.5 million for this year if they hadn't. If it was the money, they wouldn't have risked losing him. The reason they cut him was to save a minor league player from Rule 5. If we kept him on the 40 man roster we would have one less minor league player today. There is no fat at the top of the Padres minor leagues. That Rule 5 loss would be muscle.
