100% Agreed with you. Plus Spencer has much more potential and apparently plays smart, few mistakes here and there but he's still very young. Not "apparently," he has played VERY smart. He has no outside shot to speak of, but that's okay. That's not what this team needs from him. He's pretty much a monster in the paint and on the boards when he gets good minutes.

i hope all the bullsiht naysayers come on this one to eat some crow. Dude was 0-12 on layups and putbacks over three straight games. That's hard to do. Anytime someone does that, they deserve a few nays. However, since then, he's been 10-12 on the close ones. He did have two yips in the second half, but let's hope he's put those behind him. For the record, I haven't been a naysayer. I've said JJ has great footwork, great moves in the paint and solid rebounding skills. His biggest issue all season has been the ability to convert. He's certainly gotten past whatever was ailing him in that department. As such, he should be scoring 10 to 12 points per game just being the garbageman.

played much better, especially on D against their bigs. Still could use a little more strength going to the basket and slam the ball.

I have been frustrated with his misses on short baskets in the lane, but today he was golden for most of the game.

I think THIS is the JJ O'Brien who we kept hearing from insiders was one of the best players on the team in practice last season while redshirting...
Nice to meet the real JJoB.

Thems a lot of middle fingers from that there crowd at Auburn. Not quite the Southern Gentlemen. As for JJ, it was a solid and consistent game. The throw down was welcome. Made me wonder how a 6'7" can miss shots that close. It's easier to just throw them down. Instead of starting this new thread, it might have been cool to pick up one of last week's threads on him. How things change after one week.

I'll admit I've been critical of JJ and he's absolutely changed my mind as his game has gotten more aggressive. It seems to me he's been forced into a PF role when he's more of a 3.
I'll eat the ass out of a crow if he keeps playing like he has the last two games.

i hope all the bullsiht naysayers come on this one to eat some crow. His play prior to the NV game deserved criticism. I'm sure everyone is happy and impressed about his play today, but his critics don't have to eat crow. They were right at the time. Exactly! Why eat crow when you say JJ has to start making shots from 3 ft and in on a regular basis? He obviously had some issues but late last game and todays game he played to his potential. Everyone is extremely happy when he does and JJ is capable of it and so much more room to improve on consistency, he knows he can do it. He has a chance to be a superstar on this team. He has a great "work man like" mentality that will make him a fan favorite. Loved his play today!

He is such a schmuck. When people complain about maal, they need to remember this punkass to put things in perspective. Jamaal is competitive and gets in people's heads. Marshall mathers Henderson is just a tool. I still remember how big of a dick he was as a freshman.

Let me be the first to give JJ props for a great game. Our transfer class gets a failing grade without him.

What I want to know is where are the clowns who were saying JJ was not a D1 caliber player after the UNLV loss?

Even though the offensive statistics were not great, yesterday was the best game of the season played so far by the Aztecs. The defense totally suffocated #15 New Mexico from start to finish enabling a 21 point win without great shooting by the Aztecs.
JJ O'Brien in particular was impressive. If he continues to go strong to and finish at the basket like he has for the last two games, everybody better watch out for the Aztecs.
Keep Rising Aztecs!
