Dude was 4-4 on all shots within two feet of the basket. He definitely gets a WTF? on his three-point attempt, but we'll let that one slide. He's the team's garbage man. He has good footwork and has a knack for getting good positioning around the rim. As such, it's essential that he's able to make layups, put-backs and tip-ins. He should be scoring 10 points per game just taking out the trash. Let's hope this game is a new trend and that the yips don't return.

That was exactly the kind of game we need from JJ going forward. I really feel like the Wyoming game was a wake up call for not only JJ but for our whole squad.

The thing I noticed from the UNLV and Wyoming games is that he carries the ball weird when he goes up for a lay-up. He holds it like a football around his waist, and then brings it all the way up his body to the hoop. Its awkward, I only listened to the game on the radio last night, but I think the games he is successful are the games he thinks about his form (probably) at least.

He seemed more agressive in the 1st half which I expected from him all year. Seemed like he got less minutes in the 2nd half after playing so well in the 1st.

What I like most about JJ is that he always appears to be composed. He may have a bad game from time to time, but he never lets it show. Unlike some of our more emotional players.

Turned in the dress for hip hop jeans. Getting closer to manning up.

He also went 4-7 from the FT line to raise his season average to 37%. WTG!

I really feel JJ O'brien by the time he is a Senior will be one of our best players. If he can stay aggressive and attack more, he's got some real strong moves around the paint. Free throws are surprisingly awful though. Notice he hardly played in the 2nd half when we went on the big run though. hmmm.

I am glad he had an improved game. I thought he did blow one shot under the basket, though I think he had a man in his face. Overall, though, I think he should be coming off the bench. I like some of the other starting lineups that people have proposed on this forum. He does not seem to be either a scoring or a rebounding threat.

And he drove down the court AND made the layup right before halftime.

I thought he did blow one shot under the basket, though I think he had a man in his face. That was the play, I believe, where he got fouled hard and couldn't finish. He followed that up by missing both FTs. So, yeah, that wasn't good. But at least it wasn't a flat-out yip.

Posted in GT...Jamaal Franklin post game: "JJ told me he's going to finish the ball today."
He knew he needed to step up. The points he was leaving on the floor was getting ridiculous...He performed well. Let's hope it's the start of a new trend.

Completely different player when he can convert his chippies. Solid effort last night.

I like some of the other starting lineups that people have proposed on this forum. He does not seem to be either a scoring or a rebounding threat. He actually is a greater scoring threat than Stephens or Skylar. He would be a double digit scorer if he did not blow the 3 to 4 put backs he has blown in just about every game other than last night.

Very solid effort
BUT.... still shouldn't be in the starting line-up
if he keeps playing like then then he could be a solid bench player
