Our success comes down to how these guys perform. Get Jamaal established inside the paint and in transition. Let Chase get the bulk of perimeter touches in the half court. We don't have a post up presence so lets use Jamaal inside instead. If Rahon is hitting shots it a plus but if he's off, at least we have Jamaal inside battling for the rebound. Skylar is making layups and blocking shots, so if the other guys aren't producing, go with him down the stretch. Winston has had a few solid games but he and Jamaal don't complement each other on the perimeter. If that's the case, go with Jamaal/Rahon instead of Winston/Jamaal. A team is only considered "deep" if the bench is actually producing. If we have to play our top 6 35+ min apiece, so be it.
I ride or die with these guys 35-40 mins: Jamaal Chase Xavier Deshawn/Skylar (who ever came to play that day)
10-15 mins: Winston Rahon O'brien

No. Our success does not come down to how these guys perform. That's the lie that they believe and that's why we are sucking.

Okay let me add to the premise, If Jamaal and Chase play well, all the other guys have to dobis NOT SUCK!!! And we'll win. How is that?

I don't think there have been any games where both struggled at all. But we have won games with just one of them coming up big. And we generally 1 of then do well even in games we lose. Our success comes down to hitting shots, and playing lockdown defense as a team.

It doesn't come down to how Jamaal and Chase play. These guys usually produce 10 plus points a game and Jamaal usually averages close to 20. Like swagtec said it comes down to the other players. Rahon can't lay goose eggs like he usually does. You need approximately 3 guys in double figures to win in college basketball. Doesn't necessarily matter who, just 3, and the role players need to contribute 2-7 points each.

I have to agree with using jamaal inside. Last year when he went on his late season tear to win the poy one of the reasons he was so effective was because he was posting up constantly. He is a huge mismatch for most defenders because of his size and quickness, the fact that we had no size last year actually put jamaal in a situation to be more effective. It also kept him away from the 3pt line and allowed him to draw more fouls. I would feed him in the high post or the baseline as much as possible.

I repeat, as long as the other guys din't suck, we should win most games. That means if the bigs make simple lay ups and Rahon occasionally hit a few jump shots, we're good. As bad as we played vs Wyoming, we still played decent defense. Leonard Washington was just a dog and the refs let him get away with a lot of charges...especially the one where Jamaal took a charge on the sideline. Our bigs were getting battered and bruised. After awhile Deshawn and JJ just stopped fighting all together.

Now you're saying that our success comes down to how our other guys perform.. So in short what you're saying is our success comes down to how our complete team performs. I agree.

How about allowing the coaching staff make up the lineup for all 40 minutes, and in whatever overtimes are necessary? They are the folks who have put this team together, and know best how to handle it.
This is only a suggestion.

My suggestion is shoot 45% or better and you win. Make the baskets and the wins will follow. Missing easy lay-ups lose. Beat Nevada, go aztecs.

I think it's just gonna come down to the Aztecs putting more points up on the board than the other team.

These two need to be better leaders Not everyone is equipped to be a leader. Some are best as a key technician under a great leader. See: teams led by Trimaine Davis, he led excellent players and made them better.

It's a team game. Pass and move pass and move! Hit the open guy - hit the open shot.
