I don't have much of an issue with what the article has to say. I also understand the OP's sentiment.
But the Big East was a risk we had to explore, and Sterk should continue keeping all options open. But if the MWC is where we are to stay for quite some time, that's fine by me. Schools have become BCS bowl winners here. There's no reason we can't, too.

Lol, UNLV is just as f****d as we are by this deal, they just don't care enough to worry about it.

UNLV doesn't have a football program so being in the MW is good for them.

What does csu care, they were only on cbs/nbc cable once last year for football, when they played boise. So, the mwc doesn't get raided, they continue to be on local tv, and now they get a bonus for getting blown out at boise.
hip hip huzzah!

Without a doubt the exposure in the Big East would have been way better than the MWC: not even close. Temple: 8 million people in the city with the 7th largetst TV market in the nation San Diego: over 3 million people in the city with the 28th largest TV market Uhhh yeah - eyeballs would be watching... You are clueless. Alas, who knows what is to become of the BE with all the realignment. So, a risk to be in it with all the movement and lack of solid TV numbers.

Ah yes, I miss that Colorado centric reporting style. The Denver Post was always good for a few laughs.

3 straight bowl games, 6 NFL draft picks, 1 HC change, 1 conference FB co-championship, and 1 attempted escape later... ...we are still handcuffed by the front range schools who have appeared to DO NOTHING in the same time frame.

We play the front range schools only half as often as before. So we partially "escapped".

Actually, they did. According to the Coloradan newspaper, CSU's president was instrumental in convincing King Kustra that the new TV deal was a windfall for them which lured Boise back and probably saved MWC football. Speaking of CSU, that school is to be given kudos for having a new stadium in the works and having significantly increased football coaching salaries. However, at least right now, their 2013 recruiting class is no better than Fairchild as his guys were doing.

Where on earth do they get the money to fund such salaries and a new stadium with the lack of $$$ from the MWaC? I wish SDSU had some extra $$$ to fund a new FB stadium, Basketball practice facility, increase coaches $$ and hire more support staff and recruiting coordinators.

They grossly overpaid for a coach, building a new stadium for them is useless enterprise, and they remain one of the lowest revenue producer in a conference full of poor revenue producers. CSU is one of the lead rocks.

It all has to do with State Budgets. Colorado, Nevada, and even Wyoming didn't defund Higher Education the way California has.
At least they are refunding the UC and CSU systems finally.
